DESCRIPTION:This special one-day session is designed to give students the opportunity to go tubing at Soldier Hollow with friends from their own school. \nDate: Tuesday\, February 3rd \nTime: 2:30-4:45pm (tubing from 2:45-4:15pm) \nTransportation: Thanks to a special grant we are able to provide transportation to and from Soldier Hollow tubing hill from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle Schools. We will also pick up from Wasatch High if needed. \nVolunteers Needed! Two chaperones\, one from each school\, will be needed in order to run this program. Please select the bus chaperone ticket for your child if you are able to volunteer. Chaperones will need to fill out the VOLUNTEER FORM and complete a quick background check. \nYou will need to complete an online waiver when you register. \nScholarship Availability: We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance Alpine Ski and Snowboard program gives students in the Ogden/Weber area the opportunity to begin or continue to learn skiing or snowboarding skills alongside their peers. The program is based on the unique partnerships we have built with our local resorts\, and utilizes their talented ski instructors. This program is for Wallace Stegner -Sunset campus and for area Charter Schools/homeschoolers. Must be 7 years old to participate. \nGrades: 3-6  \nDates:  February 4\, 11\, 18\, 25 \nTime: 2:00-4:00 (on snow) \nCost: $180/$50 scholarship \nRequired Equipment/Gear: skis/snowboard and boots\, helmet\, googles\, water-proof gloves/mittens and proper snow clothing. *Students on scholarship will be notified about their equipment pickup. \nWaiver: You must fill out the online waiver HERE otherwise your student can not participate. \nVenue: Powder Mountain \nTransportation is provided for this program to and from the resort\, with pick up location TBD  \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. DESCRIPTION:Learn to ski or snowboard or progress skills on the slopes of Woodward. The ACTiV8 Alpine Skiing/Snowboarding program gives kids the opportunity to learn and progress alongside their peers and will help refine current skills and introduce students to new skills. This is a program for North Summit and Wasatch middle schoolers. This registration is for North Summit students. \nStudents will meet parent volunteers after school in a specified area where the students will get ready for the session (get snow clothes and gear on). Students will then board YSA transportation to Woodward where they will have a 2 hour ski or snowboard lesson with an instructor.  \nThis program is based on our unique partnership with Woodward. \nDates: Thursdays\, Feb. 12\, 19\, 26\, Mar. 5 \nProgram Time: 3:30-5:30 pm (at Woodward) \nProgram Fee: $185 \n*The Program Fee includes transportation\, lift tickets\, and instruction. \nTransportation: \nNorth Summit– Transportation will be provided if we get enough participants and a chaperone. If transportation can be provided\, we will plan to leave the school around 2:50 and will return to the school around 6/6:15pm. \nVolunteers Needed: \nOur programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program. Hosted by Youth Sports Alliance and Park City Ski and Snowboard\, this BRASS sponsored program is for 6th grade and up and filled with potentially life-saving information. This 90-minute program will introduce you to the basics of avalanches and risk mitigation. The curriculum is presented by certified avalanche instructors\, Sam Macomber and Anna Marno and includes: \n\nBasic snow science showing how the conditions for an avalanche can take shape\nRed flags that could indicate elevated avalanche danger\nMitigating risk: accessing and interpreting avalanche forecasts\, selecting good terrain\nMaking good decisions\nSafe travel rituals when moving through avalanche terrain\nOpportunities for further education\n\nOur goal is to provide you with a basic understanding of the risks you can encounter\, and how to mitigate that risk. This program will happen rain (without lightning) or shine. \nThe location of this program will be South Summit Middle School for the first session for skills and drills\, and we will use the High Star trails unless they are unavailable. The location of the rides will be determined as we get closer to the start of the program\, and we see what kind of condition the trails are in.  \nTransportation is not provided. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited for this brand new program opportunity and to team up with Salt City Swords\, an organization dedicated to teaching fencing and swordsmanship. \nDates : Wednesdays – April 29\, May 6\, May 13\, May 20 \nTime: 12:40 – 2:20 (Instruction will be from 1-2 PM at Salt City Swords) \nLocation :  Salt City Swords – transportation will be provided \nDiscover the excitement of fencing\, one of the fastest and oldest sports in the Olympics! This four week course will cover the basics of modern-day sword fighting\, including footwork\, blade work\, rules\, etiquette and basic tactics. Students will develop coordination\, confidence\, speed\, and agility while discovering the intricacies of this fascinating sport under the guidance of expert instructors. \nWhat to Bring:\n– Water bottle\, athletic clothing and footwear \nProgram Chaperone:  \nOur programs cannot run without parent volunteers.
