DESCRIPTION:The ACTiV8 Indoor climbing program is a wonderful opportunity where students will get to experience the excitement of indoor rock climbing at The Front. The main goals of the program are to have fun\, learn climbing fundamentals\, and develop powerful friendships. The experienced staff at The Front will work with your child as they develop their strength and technique\, learn about proper gear use\, and build teamwork and communication skills. Everything is taught in a non-competitive atmosphere. \nDates: Mondays November 9\, 16\, 30\, December 7 (no class on Nov 23 due to Thanksgiving break) \nTimes: 3:15-4:45 (Pickup will take place after school at 3 PM and will return around 5 PM) \nGrades: 4-8 \nCost: $75/$25 scholarship \nPlease wear comfortable clothing\, closed toe shoes and socks\, and bring a water bottle \nPartial Scholarship Ticket Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. Participate in the Junior Instructor Program\, sponsored by YSA and the Professional Ski Instructors of America – American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI).  \nLearn what it’s like to work as an instructor and earn a nationally-recognized certificate that can open the door to teaching at a local resort.  \nTo participate in this course you MUST complete all sessions.\nDates: \nClassroom at Park City Library – 2 Mondays\, November 23 & December 7th from 3:15-5:15pm \nOn Snow at Park City Mountain Village – Saturday\, December 19th (9:00-4:00pm)\, Saturday\, January  9th (9:00am-4:00pm) \nShadow at least 5 hours of lessons at the resort’s Ski and Snowboard School \n\nAvailable Shadow Dates\n\nTaking Part In This Program:  \n\nMakes you a better skier or snowboarder \nConnects you with others who share your snowsports passion \nHelps you develop important career and life skills\, such as: Communication\, Dedication\, Discipline\, Independence\, Instruction\, Leadership\, Group management\, Professionalism\, Public speaking\nGives you a solid foundation of skills to help you work in the snowsports industry during and after high school. \n\nProgram Requirements \n\nParticipate in 4 hours of classroom learning including three online learning units. \nComplete a 12-hour training course on snow at a local resort. DESCRIPTION:Registration Closes: Sunday\, November 22nd \nThe Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a three-week art class taught by artist Morgan McCue at Rocky Mountain Middle School for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Mondays\, November 30\, December 7\, 14 \nTime: 1:30-3pm \nLocation: Rocky Mountain Middle School \nPushing Boundaries: Creative Expression Through Art \nCreative expression is infinite and there are no boundaries. There is no better way to illustrate that\, than by trying different forms of art from around the world and across history. From Gyotaku (traditional Japanese fish printing)\, to Pop Art\, students will explore their own creative expressions through the lens of 3\, very different art styles. The class will allow students to try different techniques\, while learning about their historical context. At the end of the third and final class\, we will host a gallery show for friends and family. Students will be encouraged to give a brief presentation on one of their favorite pieces/processes. Climbers will progress at their own pace while developing strength\, balance\, coordination\, and climbing skills through age-appropriate instruction and weekly challenges. \nParticipants will develop: \n\nClimbing technique and body awareness\nStrength\, balance\, and coordination\nProblem-solving and critical thinking\nConfidence and perseverance\nSafe climbing habits and proper gym etiquette\n\nEach age group follows a progression designed for their developmental level\, with fresh activities and climbing challenges to keep every class exciting. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to begin a brand new program and partner with Sara Boulter Photography . In this fun\, hands-on four-week photography class\, students will learn how to take photos that stand out! We’ll explore the basics of composition\, lighting\, storytelling\, and creative techniques that make everyday photos look amazing. Whether they’re using a camera or a smartphone\, students will gain practical skills\, complete fun photo challenges\, and build confidence behind the lens. Only 10 spots available for this program\, sign up today! \nDates : Wednesdays  Feb 17\, 24\,  March 3\, 10 \n Time: 12;15-1:15 PM \nGrades: 4-8 \nLocation :  Held onsite afterschool at Monticello Academy \nCost: $60 standard ticket/$20 scholarship ticket (see below) \nWhat to Bring:\n– Water bottle\, a cellphone with a camera (if you have one)\, a camera (if you have one) \nWe have 8 Canon Cameras that may be used for this program. If you have a camera and would like to use your own\, please bring it. Other lessons will include taking photos with a cell phone. Our cell phone policy will still be place and we will only utilize the camera function during the program. \n  \nScholarship Availability:  We want to provide the opportunity for as many students as possible to participate in our programs. If your child qualifies for the free and reduced lunch program and/or your family earns less than $50\,000 annually\, please select a Scholarship ticket to complete your registration. If you do not qualify for free and reduced lunch but earn less than $120\,000 annually and the registration fee is a burden for your family\, you may qualify for a partial scholarship. Please complete the Partial Scholarship Application linked here to help us understand your financial challenges. The information you choose to share with us is confidential and will be used only for purposes of determining your eligibility for a partial scholarship. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to begin a brand new program and team up again with Salt City Swords\, an organization dedicated to teaching fencing and archery. For this specific program\, discover the excitement of ARCHERY! This four week course teaches the fundamentals of safe and accurate archery. Students will learn proper range safety\, equipment use\, aiming techniques\, arrow release\, and target practice. The course is designed for beginners and provides opportunities to build confidence\, improve focus\, and develop accuracy through guided instruction and hands-on practice. No prior archery experience is required. \nDates : Fridays April 9\, 16\, 23\, 30 \nTime: 2-3 PM (Pick up will be afterschool at 1:30 and drop off close to 3:30) \nLocation :  Salt City Swords – Transportation will be provided from Wallace Stegner-SLC Campus \nWhat to Bring:\n– Water bottle\, athletic clothing and footwear (no sandals\, flip flops\, boots\, etc…) \nProgram Chaperone: Our programs cannot run without parent volunteers.
