DESCRIPTION:Registration Closes: Sunday\, November 22nd \nThe Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a four-week introduction to boxing program with Rise Boxing for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Mondays\, November 30\, December 7\, 14 \nTime: 1:30-3:00pm \nLocation: Timpanogos Middle School \nStudents will learn the fundamentals of boxing in a supportive and encouraging environment through 3 weeks of 1.5 hour sessions. The session will cover footwork\, punching technique\, combinations\, rules of boxing and application of the sport. Students will develop skills in a non-contact environment that will give them an understanding of the sweet science. Students will get to see the discipline and skill required for boxing in a safe and controlled environment and will develop a base level of skill over the course of the session. \nScholarship Availability:  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. DESCRIPTION:Registration Closes: Sunday\, November 22nd \nThe Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a three-week art class taught by artist Morgan McCue at Rocky Mountain Middle School for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Mondays\, November 30\, December 7\, 14 \nTime: 1:30-3pm \nLocation: Rocky Mountain Middle School \nPushing Boundaries: Creative Expression Through Art \nCreative expression is infinite and there are no boundaries. There is no better way to illustrate that\, than by trying different forms of art from around the world and across history. From Gyotaku (traditional Japanese fish printing)\, to Pop Art\, students will explore their own creative expressions through the lens of 3\, very different art styles. The class will allow students to try different techniques\, while learning about their historical context. At the end of the third and final class\, we will host a gallery show for friends and family. Students will be encouraged to give a brief presentation on one of their favorite pieces/processes. DESCRIPTION:Registration Closes: Sunday\, November 22nd \nWe’re excited to partner with Midway Ice Rink to offer ice skating classes. Whether your child is skating for the first time\, or has skated multiple times\, this is a great introductory program to ice skating. DESCRIPTION:Registration Closes: Tuesday\, December 8th \nCross country skiing is a great way to build fitness and enjoy being outdoors with friends. The ACTIV8 Cross Country Skiing program\, for students in 6th-12th grades is specifically designed to build ski skills and confidence in a fun environment! The sessions are intended for students who want to learn the fundamentals of cross country skiing through games\, drills\, and skiing with peers. \nPlease fill out this waiver. Your child will not be able to participate until it is completed. \nDates: Wednesday\, December 16 and Friday\, December 18 \nTimes: 2:30pm – 5:45pm (students will be at Soldier Hollow from 3:15-5:15pm) \nLocation: Soldier Hollow Nordic Center \nTransportation: This program includes transportation from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain middle schools and back afterwards.  \nThis program will happen rain or shine\, and there will be no refunds for bad weather. \nChaperones: Our programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program.
