SUMMARY:ACTiV8 Fencing with Salt City Swords - Canyon Rim Academy
DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to team up again with Salt City Swords\, an organization dedicated to teaching fencing and swordsmanship. Discover the excitement of fencing\, one of the fastest and oldest sports in the Olympics! This four week course will cover the basics of modern-day sword fighting\, including footwork\, blade work\, rules\, etiquette and basic tactics. Students will develop coordination\, confidence\, speed\, and agility while discovering the intricacies of this fascinating sport under the guidance of expert instructors. \nDates : Fridays Feb 5\, 12\, 26\, March 5 \nTime: 2-3 PM (Pick up will be afterschool at 1:30 and drop off close to 3:30) \nLocation :  Salt City Swords – Transportation will be provided from Canyon Rim Academy \nWhat to Bring:\n– Water bottle\, athletic clothing and footwear (no sandals\, flip flops\, boots\, etc…) \nProgram Chaperone: Our programs cannot run without parent volunteers. If you volunteer\, your student participates for FREE (you will be refunded the price of the ticket).  Please choose a chaperone ticket (and use your student’s information on the ticket) below to sign up.  You must commit to the full 4 week program. \nScholarship Availability:  We want to provide the opportunity for as many students as possible to participate in our programs. If your child qualifies for the free and reduced lunch program and/or your family earns less than $50\,000 annually\, please select a Scholarship ticket to complete your registration. If you do not qualify for free and reduced lunch but earn less than $120\,000 annually and the registration fee is a burden for your family\, you may qualify for a partial scholarship. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to begin a brand new program and partner with Sara Boulter Photography . In this fun\, hands-on four-week photography class\, students will learn how to take photos that stand out! We’ll explore the basics of composition\, lighting\, storytelling\, and creative techniques that make everyday photos look amazing. Whether they’re using a camera or a smartphone\, students will gain practical skills\, complete fun photo challenges\, and build confidence behind the lens. Only 10 spots available for this program\, sign up today! \nDates : Wednesdays  Feb 17\, 24\,  March 3\, 10 \n Time: 12;15-1:15 PM \nGrades: 4-8 \nLocation :  Held onsite afterschool at Monticello Academy \nCost: $60 standard ticket/$20 scholarship ticket (see below) \nWhat to Bring:\n– Water bottle\, a cellphone with a camera (if you have one)\, a camera (if you have one) \nWe have 8 Canon Cameras that may be used for this program. If you have a camera and would like to use your own\, please bring it. Other lessons will include taking photos with a cell phone. For this specific program\, discover the excitement of ARCHERY! This four week course teaches the fundamentals of safe and accurate archery. Students will learn proper range safety\, equipment use\, aiming techniques\, arrow release\, and target practice. The course is designed for beginners and provides opportunities to build confidence\, improve focus\, and develop accuracy through guided instruction and hands-on practice.
