DESCRIPTION:This special one-day session is designed to give students the opportunity to go tubing at Soldier Hollow with friends from their own school. \nDate: Tuesday\, February 11th \nTime: 3:30-6:00pm (tubing from 4:00-5:30pm) \nTransportation: Thanks to a special grant we are able to provide transportation to and from Soldier Hollow tubing hill from Daniels Canyon\, Heber Valley\, and Midway Elementary Schools. If your child goes to JR Smith or Old Mill Elementary Schools please register for the tubing session on February 18th. \nVolunteers Needed! Three chaperones\, one from each school\, will be needed in order to run this program. Please select the bus chaperone ticket for your child if you are able to volunteer. Chaperones will need to fill out the VOLUNTEER FORM and complete a quick background check. \nComplete this waiver when you register. \nScholarship Availability: We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. If you child qualifies for free and reduced lunch or your family earns less than $50\,000 annually\, please select a Scholarship ticket to complete your registration. SUMMARY:ACTIV8 Wasatch and North Summit Ski/Snowboard Beginner and Progression at Woodward 2025 Sponsored by Kodiak
DESCRIPTION:The standard tickets for Wasatch students are sold out. Please contact Amanda (801-400-5044\, amanda@ysausa.org) to be added to the waitlist. \nLearn to ski or snowboard or progress skills on the slopes of Woodward. The ACTiV8 Alpine Skiing/Snowboarding program gives kids the opportunity to learn and progress alongside their peers and will help refine current skills and introduce students to new skills. This is a program for North Summit and Wasatch middle schoolers. Students will meet parent volunteers after school in a specified area where the students will get ready for the session (get snow clothes and gear on). Students will then board a bus to Woodward where they will have a 2 hour ski or snowboard lesson with an instructor.  \nThis program is based on our unique partnership with Woodward. \nDates: Thursdays\, Feb. 13\, 20\, 27 Mar. 6 \nProgram Time: 3:30-5:30 pm (at Woodward)\, 2:30-6:00 pm (with using transportation to and from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain middle schools) \nTransportation: \nWasatch– The bus will pick up students from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle Schools. Bus chaperones will be needed. Please click HERE to view available slots. We may pickup from Wasatch High if there’s enough demand. \nNorth Summit– Transportation will be provided if we get enough participants and a chaperone. If transportation can be provided\, we will plan to leave the school around 2:50 and will return to the school around 6/6:15pm. Bus chaperones will be needed. DESCRIPTION:The Get Out & Play Intro/Progression to skiing or snowboarding program will give kids the opportunity to learn and progress their skiing or snowboarding skills alongside their peers. This program is for those who are brand new to skiing/snowboarding or at a beginner/ beginner-intermediate level. This program is based on our unique partnership with Woodward. \nThis is a program for North Summit students 1st-4th grade. The program begins immediately after school with students gearing up with the help of their guardian and/or parent volunteers. Students will take YSA provided transportation to Woodward where they will have a two (2) hour lesson with their instructor. Once the lesson is over\, students will be brought back to the school to be picked up. \nVolunteers needed! The entire program is parent supported and chaperoned\, so please do your best to assist! To make this program happen affordably\, we need parent volunteers. A volunteer for Lead Chaperone will receive a sizable discount on one (1) child’s registration. Other volunteer positions include an additional bus chaperone. To volunteer\, please either select the Lead Chaperone ticket or click HERE to see bus chaperone slots. SUMMARY:Wasatch and North/South Summit - ACTIV8 and Get Out & Play UOP Nordic Jumping Sponsored by Kodiak
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers must be at a MINIMUM of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on blue runs or above). \nThis is an introductory course that takes place at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for students in grades 3rd-7th who are intermediate skiers and looking to learn how to nordic jump. Students will be introduced to nordic jumping through instruction provided by Park City Ski and Snowboard (PCSS). Skiers will spend their time on our small nordic jumps and progress from the landing hill of the smallest jump (10M) and have opportunities to progress to the 10M\, 20M and even 40M ski jump. This program can be done on any alpine skis (poles are not used).  \nProgram fee: $180; $140 without transportation \nThe program fee includes UOP pass\, instruction and transportation \nDates: Mondays\, Feb. 24\, Mar. 3\, 10\, 17 \nTime: 3:30 – 5pm  \nGrades: 3rd-7th \nTransportation:  \nWasatch – Parents/Guardians will drop off students at the Southfield parking lot (by the skatepark) to meet the chaperones to go up to the UOP by bus at 2:45pm and pick up in the Southfield parking lot at 5:30pm. \nNorth Summit/ South Summit- transportation will not be provided.
