SUMMARY:North Summit GOAP Intro/ Progression to Skiing or Snowboard at Woodward Sponsored by Kodiak
DESCRIPTION:The Get Out & Play Intro/Progression to skiing or snowboarding program will give kids the opportunity to learn and progress their skiing or snowboarding skills alongside their peers. This program is for those who are brand new to skiing/snowboarding or at a beginner/ beginner-intermediate level. This program is based on our unique partnership with Woodward. \nThis is a program for North Summit students 1st-4th grade. The program begins immediately after school with students gearing up with the help of their guardian and/or parent volunteers. Students will take YSA provided transportation to Woodward where they will have a two (2) hour lesson with their instructor. Once the lesson is over\, students will be brought back to the school to be picked up. \nVolunteers needed! The entire program is parent supported and chaperoned\, so please do your best to assist! To make this program happen affordably\, we need parent volunteers. A volunteer for Lead Chaperone will receive a sizable discount on one (1) child’s registration. Other volunteer positions include an additional bus chaperone. To volunteer\, please either select the Lead Chaperone ticket or click HERE to see bus chaperone slots. All volunteers will need to fill out the VOLUNTEER FORM and do a quick background check prior to the program. \nContact Jana Johnson with any questions. \nDates: Mondays; Feb. 24\, March 3\, 10\, 17 \nTime:  Transportation will arrive around 2:00pm with an aim to be at Woodward around 2:45pm and return to the school around 5:15/30pm. \nProgram Fee:  $180 \nThe program fee includes transportation\, lift ticket\, and instruction. \nRegistration Deadline: Registration will close on Feb. 9\, 2025 \nRequired Equipment/Gear: skis/snowboard and boots\, helmet\, googles\, water-proof gloves/mittens and proper snow clothing. Please secure rentals as soon as possible. If you are having difficulty finding a rental shop\, please contact Jana Johnson ASAP. Rentals are included with the scholarship ticket only. \nSCHOLARSHIPS:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually or on the free or reduced lunch program. Select a Scholarship ticket below to complete the registration process for your child.\nPartial Scholarships are also available for families earning between $50\,000 and $120\,000 annually. To apply for a Partial Scholarship\, please complete the application linked here to help us understand your financial challenges.\n\nSibling Discount: A sibling discount is now available thanks to Kodiak sponsoring the Get Out & Play and ACTiV8 programs. Additional information is provided in the standard ticket registration. The sibling discount is available only with the purchase of a standard ticket. SUMMARY:Wasatch and North/South Summit - ACTIV8 and Get Out & Play UOP Nordic Jumping Sponsored by Kodiak
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers must be at a MINIMUM of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on blue runs or above). \nThis is an introductory course that takes place at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for students in grades 3rd-7th who are intermediate skiers and looking to learn how to nordic jump. Students will be introduced to nordic jumping through instruction provided by Park City Ski and Snowboard (PCSS). Skiers will spend their time on our small nordic jumps and progress from the landing hill of the smallest jump (10M) and have opportunities to progress to the 10M\, 20M and even 40M ski jump. This program can be done on any alpine skis (poles are not used).  \nProgram fee: $180; $140 without transportation \nThe program fee includes UOP pass\, instruction and transportation \nDates: Mondays\, Feb. 24\, Mar. 3\, 10\, 17 \nTime: 3:30 – 5pm  \nGrades: 3rd-7th \nTransportation:  \nWasatch – Parents/Guardians will drop off students at the Southfield parking lot (by the skatepark) to meet the chaperones to go up to the UOP by bus at 2:45pm and pick up in the Southfield parking lot at 5:30pm. \nNorth Summit/ South Summit- transportation will not be provided. Please select the ticket without transportation.  \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually.
