DESCRIPTION:Cross country skiing is a great way to build fitness and enjoy being outdoors with friends\, and the ACTiV8 Cross Country Skiing program is specifically designed to build ski skills and confidence in a fun environment! The sessions are intended for students who want to learn the fundamentals of cross country skiing through games\, drills\, and skiing with peers. \nGrades: 6th-12th \nDates: Jan 9\, 16\, 23\, 30 \nTime: 3:15pm – 5:00pm  \nVenue: White Pine Nordic Center \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. Just select a Scholarship ticket below to complete the registration process for your child.\nPartial Scholarships are now also available for families earning between $50\,000 and $120\,000 annually. To apply for a Partial Scholarship\, please complete the application linked here to help us understand your financial challenges.\n\nEquipment is provided for students at no cost through the White Pine Nordic Center\, and instructors are from the Park City Ski and Snowboard Nordic Team. We do need a parent chaperone each week to help out on the trails with the classes. If you would like to volunteer\, but don’t own your own equipment\, you may borrow some from White Pine free of charge. I love Nordic combined because of all the opportunities it gave me and it helped me become a very well-rounded athlete. If your child comes to the program and tells their instructor that they do not feel well\, or is exhibiting symptoms of not feeling well\, they will not be able to participate in the class for that day and you will be called to come pick them up.

DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers/Riders must be at a MINIMUM of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on blue runs or above).  Please reach out to us if you have questions regarding ability level before registering.  \nThis program is an introduction to freestyle/freeski or freestyle snowboarding that takes place at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for students who are intermediate/advanced skiers or riders. Participants will choose either freestyle/freeski or freestyle snowboarding. Instruction provided by Park City Ski and Snowboard (PCSS). \nFreestyle/Freeski: Explore the terrain parks and mogul courses at the Utah Olympic Park\, the training grounds of the US Ski Team\, with knowledgeable and experienced coaches from PCSS’s Freestyle All Skills Team. Intermediate skiers will ride a range of freestyle/freeski terrain as an introduction to slopestyle and mogul disciplines. Athletes will learn and hone basic skills in the following areas: skiing switch (backwards)\, sliding rails and boxes\, hitting various sized jumps (incorporating basic tricks like grabs and spins when ready)\, and maintaining an aggressive stance while finding rhythm in an entry-level competition-style mogul course. \nSnowboard: Get started in the exciting world of Freestyle Snowboarding at the UOP with incredible terrain and incredible coaches. The UOP offers a variety of jumps and boxes to fast-forward your riding and have some fun on the hill with some new friends. Coaches will focus on skill development and some freestyle terrain. This is a great program to gain confidence on your board in a world class environment. \nNordic Jumping/ Combine: For students interested in learning about the sport of Nordic Jumping and/or Nordic Combine (a combination of ski jumping & cross country skiing)\, please contact Adam at aloomis@parkcityss.org for program options with Park City Ski and Snowboard.  \nDates: Fridays Jan 9\, 16\, 23\, 30; 3:15-5 pm \nProgram Fee: $145 \nThe program fee includes UOP pass and instruction. \nNo transportation provided. \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually.
