DESCRIPTION:The standard tickets for Wasatch students are sold out. Please contact Amanda (801-400-5044\, amanda@ysausa.org) to be added to the waitlist. \nLearn to ski or snowboard or progress skills on the slopes of Woodward. The ACTiV8 Alpine Skiing/Snowboarding program gives kids the opportunity to learn and progress alongside their peers and will help refine current skills and introduce students to new skills. This is a program for North Summit and Wasatch middle schoolers. Students will meet parent volunteers after school in a specified area where the students will get ready for the session (get snow clothes and gear on). Students will then board a bus to Woodward where they will have a 2 hour ski or snowboard lesson with an instructor.  \nThis program is based on our unique partnership with Woodward. \nDates: Thursdays\, Feb. 13\, 20\, 27 Mar. 6 \nProgram Time: 3:30-5:30 pm (at Woodward)\, 2:30-6:00 pm (with using transportation to and from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain middle schools) \nTransportation: \nWasatch– The bus will pick up students from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle Schools. Bus chaperones will be needed. Please click HERE to view available slots. We may pickup from Wasatch High if there’s enough demand. \nNorth Summit– Transportation will be provided if we get enough participants and a chaperone. If transportation can be provided\, we will plan to leave the school around 2:50 and will return to the school around 6/6:15pm. Bus chaperones will be needed. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a four-week introduction to boxing program with Rise Boxing for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Monday\, Feb. 24\, Mar. 3\, 10\, 17 from 1:30-2:30 pm \nLocation: Timpanogos Middle School \nStudents will learn the fundamentals of boxing in a supportive and encouraging environment through 4 weeks of 1 hour sessions. The session will cover footwork\, punching technique\, combinations\, rules of boxing and application of the sport. Students will develop skills in a non-contact environment that will give them an understanding of the sweet science. SUMMARY:Wasatch and North/South Summit - ACTIV8 and Get Out & Play UOP Nordic Jumping Sponsored by Kodiak
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers must be at a MINIMUM of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on blue runs or above). \nThis is an introductory course that takes place at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for students in grades 3rd-7th who are intermediate skiers and looking to learn how to nordic jump. Students will be introduced to nordic jumping through instruction provided by Park City Ski and Snowboard (PCSS). Skiers will spend their time on our small nordic jumps and progress from the landing hill of the smallest jump (10M) and have opportunities to progress to the 10M\, 20M and even 40M ski jump. This program can be done on any alpine skis (poles are not used).  \nProgram fee: $180; $140 without transportation \nThe program fee includes UOP pass\, instruction and transportation \nDates: Mondays\, Feb. 24\, Mar. 3\, 10\, 17 \nTime: 3:30 – 5pm  \nGrades: 3rd-7th \nTransportation:  \nWasatch – Parents/Guardians will drop off students at the Southfield parking lot (by the skatepark) to meet the chaperones to go up to the UOP by bus at 2:45pm and pick up in the Southfield parking lot at 5:30pm. \nNorth Summit/ South Summit- transportation will not be provided. This is also a great opportunity for any new or experienced sailors interested in regional sailing team opportunities. \nTransportation is provided from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle School. We have teamed up with Young Riders who will be providing the coaching staff. The program covers beginner single track trails\, climbing\, descending\, obstacles and safety on the trails. \nDates: Mondays. Sept. 8\, 15\, 22\, 29 \nTime: 2:30 to 4:30pm \nLocation: Jordanelle Ridge Trail System (often referred to as Coyote) at UVU\, 3111 College Way\, Heber City \nTransportation is not provided. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at the Jordanelle Ridge Trail System at UVU. DESCRIPTION:The YSA is excited to offer a four-week golf skills program for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Monday October 27\, November 3\, 10\, 17 from 3:30-4:30 \nLocation: The Golf Lodge (520 N Main Street\, Suite B Heber City\,UT 84032)  \nThe staff at The Golf Lodge is ready to bring your Junior Golfer to the next level. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn from the best! These clinics are perfect for beginner or advanced golfers. New skills will be taught and current skills will be built upon. Don’t miss your chance to learn and develop your golfing skills! \nTransportation is not provided. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at The Golf Lodge. \nRequired Equipment \n\nShoes and socks (no open-toe sandals)\nAthletic clothing (including a hat\, jacket and sunglasses)\nWater Bottle\n\nRegistration Closes Monday\, October 20th.  \nVolunteers: Our programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program. Chaperone tickets are available at a reduced cost. Chaperones will receive a sizable discount on one (1) child’s registration. Please purchase a chaperone ticket for your child at registration. In this painting class\, we’ll explore the fascinating history of pet portraiture—starting with some of the earliest depictions of domesticated animals. \nUsing history as our backdrop\, you’ll learn to paint your own pet portraits inspired by different historical styles and artistic traditions. We’ll explore various approaches to composition\, color\, and technique—while discussing how pets have been represented through time. \nYou do not need to own a pet to enjoy this course—just a love of animals\, history\, and the creative process. \nScholarship Availability:  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance is excited to offer a four-week indoor climbing program at the Fit Stop for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 program\, sponsored by Kodiak. \nDates: Monday November 24\, December 1\, 8\, 15  from 2:30-3:30 \nLocation: Fit Stop \nThe FitStop youth ACTIV8 program is a wonderful program where students will get to experience the Crag Climbing Wall. Students will learn the basics of climbing techniques as well as learning how to safely climb in an indoor environment. Along with climbing\, they will learn how to tie into harnesses and climb on rope\, climbing technique\, equipment\, safety\, problem solving\, trust\, teamwork\, strength and endurance\, along with so much more. \nTransportation is not provided.
