DESCRIPTION:Come explore the world of dog sledding and animal rescue at Rancho Luna Lobos! Dana and Fernando will lead students through team building activities and dryland dog sled rides while teaching them about dog wellness\, feeding and general care. These activities are designed to inspire students to chase their own dreams and give them tools to overcome obstacles. \nDates: Mondays. Oct. 20\, 27\, Nov. 3\, 10 from 1:30-5pm (class from 2:30-4:30) \nLocation: Rancho Luna Lobos (4733 W. Browns Canyon Rd.)\, transportation will be provided from Rocky Mountain and Timpanogos Middle Schools \n*Students will be around a lot of dogs\, and they are quite loud\, so please make sure your child is comfortable in this environment. \nVolunteers: Our programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program. Students will learn the basics of climbing techniques as well as learning how to safely climb in an indoor environment. Along with climbing\, they will learn how to tie into harnesses and climb on rope\, climbing technique\, equipment\, safety\, problem solving\, trust\, teamwork\, strength and endurance\, along with so much more. \nTransportation is not provided. Skiers/Riders must be at a MINIMUM of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on blue runs or above).  Please reach out to us if you have questions regarding ability level before registering.  \nThis program is an introduction to freestyle/freeski or freestyle snowboarding that takes place at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for students who are intermediate/advanced skiers or riders. Participants will choose either freestyle/freeski or freestyle snowboarding. Instruction provided by Park City Ski and Snowboard (PCSS). \nFreestyle/Freeski: Explore the terrain parks and mogul courses at the Utah Olympic Park\, the training grounds of the US Ski Team\, with knowledgeable and experienced coaches from PCSS’s Freestyle All Skills Team. Intermediate skiers will ride a range of freestyle/freeski terrain as an introduction to slopestyle and mogul disciplines. Athletes will learn and hone basic skills in the following areas: skiing switch (backwards)\, sliding rails and boxes\, hitting various sized jumps (incorporating basic tricks like grabs and spins when ready)\, and maintaining an aggressive stance while finding rhythm in an entry-level competition-style mogul course. \nSnowboard: Get started in the exciting world of Freestyle Snowboarding at the UOP with incredible terrain and incredible coaches. The UOP offers a variety of jumps and boxes to fast-forward your riding and have some fun on the hill with some new friends. Coaches will focus on skill development and some freestyle terrain. The session will cover footwork\, punching technique\, combinations\, rules of boxing and application of the sport. Students will develop skills in a non-contact environment that will give them an understanding of the sweet science. DESCRIPTION:This special one-day session is designed to give students the opportunity to go tubing at Soldier Hollow with friends from their own school. \nDate: Tuesday\, February 3rd \nTime: 2:30-4:45pm (tubing from 2:45-4:15pm) \nTransportation: Thanks to a special grant we are able to provide transportation to and from Soldier Hollow tubing hill from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle Schools. We will also pick up from Wasatch High if needed. \nVolunteers Needed! Two chaperones\, one from each school\, will be needed in order to run this program. Please select the bus chaperone ticket for your child if you are able to volunteer. DESCRIPTION:Join us welcoming home our 2026 Olympic and Paralympic athletes! \nBe at the Top of Main Brew Pub parking lot at the top of Swede Alley at 4:30pm. Parade starts at 5:00pm sharp. (Park at the High School and catch public transport to the Transit Center)\, please make sure you leave enough time. \nStudents will walk down Main Street and finish at the corner of Main and 7th Street.  Parents should determine a meeting spot or walk with their children in the parade; we anticipate the parade will end 5:20-5:30. Join the festivities after the parade with a presentation on Lower Main 5:30-6:00 with autographs 6:00-7:00. \nPlease note the Youth Sports Alliance is not responsible for your child during the walk down Main Street\, Park City in the parade.

DESCRIPTION:Ever wonder what it would be like to teach skiing or snowboarding? Here’s a great way to find out! Participate in the Junior Instructor Program\, sponsored by YSA and the Professional Ski Instructors of America – American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI). \nLearn what it’s like to work as an instructor and earn a nationally-recognized certificate that can open the door to teaching at a local resort. \nTo participate in this course you MUST complete all sessions.\nDates: \nApril 6th-8th from 9:00AM-4:00PM   Arrival Time: 8:45AM Instruction Time: 9:00-12:00 & 1:00-4:00 Each day  Lunch: Lunch  is free time from 12:00-1:00. Please bring a home lunch\, or money to purchase a lunch in our lodge. Students will be able to eat lunch in our ski school lunchroom if they would like. Gear: Participants will be responsible for bringing their own personal gear. Must be able to consistently control speed and turns on Green Terrain. Able to come to a complete stop on green terrain. Junior Instructor Certificate E-Learning Course: Participants will need to complete the required E-Learning courses prior to the on-snow learning section. (3 Courses\, 3 estimated hours). We ask that YSA facilitates this outside of the Ski and Ride School\, however they would like. I think it’s reasonable for students to be assigned this course work 1-2 weeks prior and tasked to work on it in their own time\, sending confirmation of completion to YSA to be tracked. If it’s needed\, I’m happy to write an outline or record a video giving instruction on how to navigate the website and which courses to complete for guidance that participants can be sent. Letter of Intent: Participants will need a letter of intent prior to the program start. Ceremony: Students who have completed all the required materials will receive a certificate of completion\, and a JR Instructor Certification Pin. \nTaking Part In This Program: \n\nMakes you a better skier or snowboarder\nConnects you with others who share your snowsports passion\nHelps you develop important career and life skills\, such as: Communication\, Dedication\, Discipline\, Independence\, Instruction\, Leadership\, Group management\, Professionalism\, Public speaking\nGives you a solid foundation of skills to help you work in the snowsports industry during and after high school.\n\nProgram Requirements \n\nParticipate in 2 hours of classroom learning including three online learning units.\nComplete a 12-hour training course on snow at a local resort. Lift tickets will be provided for on snow sessions.\nShadow 6 hours of lessons at the resort’s ski and ride school.\nDemonstrate a minimum sliding ability in 2 areas: 1) Must show the ability to safely ski or ride in a group on blue terrain. 2) Must have the ability to maneuver safely in a learning area and around all surface lifts or up/down hills and trails.\nComplete the course portfolio and have it signed by a snowsports supervisor.\nWrite and submit a letter of intent that describes why you want to become a snowsports instructor.
