SUMMARY:ACTIV8 Wasatch Cross Country Skiing at Solider Hollow
DESCRIPTION:Registration Closes: Tuesday\, December 8th \nCross country skiing is a great way to build fitness and enjoy being outdoors with friends. The ACTIV8 Cross Country Skiing program\, for students in 6th-12th grades is specifically designed to build ski skills and confidence in a fun environment! The sessions are intended for students who want to learn the fundamentals of cross country skiing through games\, drills\, and skiing with peers. \nPlease fill out this waiver. Your child will not be able to participate until it is completed. \nDates: Wednesday\, December 16 and Friday\, December 18 \nTimes: 2:30pm – 5:45pm (students will be at Soldier Hollow from 3:15-5:15pm) \nLocation: Soldier Hollow Nordic Center \nTransportation: This program includes transportation from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain middle schools and back afterwards.  \nThis program will happen rain or shine\, and there will be no refunds for bad weather. \nChaperones: Our programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program. Chaperone tickets are available at a reduced cost. Chaperones will receive a sizable discount on one (1) child’s registration. Please select the program chaperone ticket. This person will need to ride the bus each week and will need to stay at the venue during the session. If purchasing a chaperone ticket\, you must be able to attend all sessions of the program\, complete the volunteer agreement and pass a background check.  \nPartial Scholarship Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. If you earn less than $50\,000 annually\, please select a Scholarship ticket to complete your registration. If you earn more than $50\,000 annually but less than $120\,000 annually and the registration fee is a burden for your family\, you may qualify for a partial scholarship. Please complete the Partial Scholarship Application linked here to help us understand your financial challenges. The information you choose to share with us is confidential and will be used only for purposes of determining your eligibility for a partial scholarship. You may be asked to provide documentation (i.e.\, paystubs\, tax forms\, or W-2s) to confirm your income and/or other financial information.

SUMMARY:ACTiV8 UOP Freestyle/Freeski or Snowboarding
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers/Riders must be at a MINIMUM of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on blue runs or above).  Please reach out to us if you have questions regarding ability level before registering.  \nThis program is an introduction to freestyle/freeski or freestyle snowboarding that takes place at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for students who are intermediate/advanced skiers or riders. Participants will choose either freestyle/freeski or freestyle snowboarding. Instruction provided by Park City Ski and Snowboard (PCSS). \nFreestyle/Freeski: Explore the terrain parks and mogul courses at the Utah Olympic Park\, the training grounds of the US Ski Team\, with knowledgeable and experienced coaches from PCSS’s Freestyle All Skills Team. Intermediate skiers will ride a range of freestyle/freeski terrain as an introduction to slopestyle and mogul disciplines. Athletes will learn and hone basic skills in the following areas: skiing switch (backwards)\, sliding rails and boxes\, hitting various sized jumps (incorporating basic tricks like grabs and spins when ready)\, and maintaining an aggressive stance while finding rhythm in an entry-level competition-style mogul course. \nSnowboard: Get started in the exciting world of Freestyle Snowboarding at the UOP with incredible terrain and incredible coaches. The UOP offers a variety of jumps and boxes to fast-forward your riding and have some fun on the hill with some new friends. Coaches will focus on skill development and some freestyle terrain. This is a great program to gain confidence on your board in a world class environment. \n*For students interested in learning about the sport of Nordic Jumping and/or Nordic Combine (a combination of ski jumping & cross country skiing)\, please contact Adam at aloomis@parkcityss.org for program options with Park City Ski and Snowboard.  \nDates: Fridays Jan 8\, 15\, 22\, 29\, 2027; 3:15-5 pm \nProgram Fee: $145 \nThe program fee includes UOP pass and instruction. \nNo transportation provided. \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. SUMMARY:Activ8 Wasatch District– Ski/Snowboard at Sundance 2027
DESCRIPTION:The Get Out & Play Alpine Skiing/Snowboarding program gives middle schoolers the chance to advance their skiing or snowboarding skills with peers through our partnership with Sundance. This Skiing program in partnership with Ski Utah at Sundance Resort gives youth the opportunity to begin or continue to learn and develop skiing skills alongside their peers. \nProgram Details \n\nDates: Wednesdays\, February 3\, 10\, 17\, 24 \nTime: 3:30-7 pm (Class runs from 4:30 – 6:30 pm)\nGrades: 6-8 grades\nVenue: Sundance Mountain Resort\nSkill Level: Beginner to Intermediate\nTransportation: Bus transportation is provided to and from Sundance. Pick-up and drop-off at South Field Park (at the skate park parking lot). All attendees must ride the provided transportation\, no pick up and drop off at the resort.\nRequired Equipment/Gear: skis/snowboard and boots\, helmet\, googles\, water-proof gloves/mittens and proper snow clothing.\nProgram Cost:\n\n$185 standard\n$50 scholarship (for students on free and reduced lunch\, includes ski/snowboard rentals)\n$150 sibling (the sibling discount is available only with the purchase of a standard ticket\, sponsored by Kodiak)\nThe fee includes lift tickets\, instruction\, and transportation. Equipment is not provided or covered under the program fee\, except for scholarship tickets.\n\n\n\nWaiver – Please fill out the online Sundance Waiver this must be filled out prior to December 1st. \nRegistration Deadline: Registration will close on November 30th at 11:30pm. Scholarship registration closes November 18th at 7am.  \nParent Support and Volunteer Opportunities: This program relies on parent volunteers! We need help to keep the program affordable\, and volunteering is a great way to participate. All volunteers will need to complete a volunteer form and background check. The link for the background check will be sent after the form is filled out. \n\nProgram Lead: Chaperone the full program and help with email communication with parents. A background check is required and your ticket will be fully refunded after chaperoning all 4 weeks.
