SUMMARY:Wasatch- ACTIV8 and Get Out & Play UOP Ski Jumping
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers must be at a MINIMUM of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on blue runs or above). \nThis is an introductory course that takes place at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for students in grades 3rd-7th who are intermediate/advanced skiers and looking to learn how to nordic jump. Students will be introduced to nordic jumping through instruction provided by Park City Ski and Snowboard (PCSS). Skiers will spend their time on our small nordic jumps and progress from the landing hill of the smallest jump (10M) and have opportunities to progress to the 10M\, 20M and even 40M ski jump. This program can be done on any alpine skis (poles are not used).  \nProgram fee: $185; $140 without transportation \nThe program fee includes UOP pass\, instruction and transportation \nDates: Mondays\, Feb. 22\, Mar. 1\, 8\, 15 \nTime: 2:45-5:30pm (on-hill instruction 3:30-5pm) \nGrades: 3rd-7th \nTransportation \n\nWasatch –\nTransportation:  Wasatch County students will have bus transportation to and from Utah Olympic Park. Pick-up and drop-off at South Field Park (at the skate park parking lot). The bus will leave at 2:45pm. \n\nUOP Waiver: Please complete the UOP waiver either during or after you’ve finished the registration process at the following link:  Utah Olympic Park Waiver. Your child will not be able to participate until the UOP waiver has been completed. \nRegistration Deadline: Registration will close on January 3rd. Scholarship registration closes November 18th at 7am. If you need a scholarship after the deadline\, reach out to Kate Mapp\, kate@ysausa.org. \nParent Support and Volunteer Opportunities: This program relies on parent volunteers! We need help to keep the program affordable\, and volunteering is a great way to participate. All volunteers will need to complete a volunteer form and background check. The link for the background check will be sent after the form is filled out. \n\nProgram Chaperones: Help the program lead and ride the bus to and from the venue for the full program. Background check is required and your ticket will be fully refunded after chaperoning all 4 weeks.\n\nImportant Notes \n\nNo refunds will be issued for bad weather\, illness\, or once the program has started.\nEquipment is not provided (except for full scholarship tickets). If renting equipment\, please do so early. Shops sell out or stop selling season rentals in Nov. If you need help finding a shop\, please contact us.\n\nScholarships Available:  \n\nRegular Scholarships are available for families who qualify for free and reduced lunch or with annual incomes below $50\,000. Select a Scholarship ticket during registration.\nPartial Scholarships are available for families with incomes between $50\,000 and $120\,000. Programs run rain or shine\, and no refunds will be given due to weather.
