SUMMARY:ACTiV8 Intro to Avalanche Safety with BRASS
DESCRIPTION:Come learn about basic avalanche safety education with the BRASS 101 program. Hosted by Youth Sports Alliance\, this BRASS sponsored program is for 6th grade and up and filled with potentially life-saving information. This 90-minute program will introduce you to the basics of avalanches and risk mitigation. The curriculum is presented by certified avalanche instructor and local legend\, Craig Gordon. \n\nBasic snow science showing how the conditions for an avalanche can take shape\nRed flags that could indicate elevated avalanche danger\nMitigating risk: accessing and interpreting avalanche forecasts\, selecting good terrain\nMaking good decisions\nSafe travel rituals when moving through avalanche terrain\nOpportunities for further education\n\nOur goal is to provide you with a basic understanding of the risks you can encounter\, and how to mitigate that risk. SUMMARY:ACTiV8 RISE Boxing
DESCRIPTION:Students will learn the fundamentals of boxing in a supportive and encouraging environment through 4 weeks of 1 hour sessions. The session will cover footwork\, punching technique\, combinations\, rules of boxing and application of the sport. Students will develop skills in a non-contact environment that will give them an understanding of the sweet science. Students will get to see the discipline and skill required for boxing in a safe and controlled environment and will develop a base level of skill over the course of the session. \nDates: November 20\, December 4\, 11 & 18th  \nTime: 2:00-3:00pm \nLocation: RISE Boxing Gym\, 2720 Rasmussen Rd. Ste A4 Park City\, Utah 84098 (just the other side of the Freeway from Ecker Hill School). \nThere is no transportation provided for this program.  If you are in need of transportation\, please reach out to Angie: 435-243-5701. \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. Just select a Scholarship ticket below to complete the registration process for your child.\nPartial Scholarships are now also available for families earning between $50\,000 and $120\,000 annually. To apply for a Partial Scholarship\, please complete the application linked here to help us understand your financial challenges.\n\nCancellation Policy: \n\n\n\nThe Youth Sports Alliance does not issue refunds after the registration deadline. SUMMARY:Weilenmann; Fencing with Salt City Swords for Middle Schoolers
DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited for this brand new program opportunity and to team up with Salt City Swords\, an organization dedicated to teaching fencing and swordsmanship. Discover the excitement of fencing\, one of the fastest and oldest sports in the Olympics! This five week course will cover the basics of modern-day sword fighting\, including footwork\, blade work\, rules\, etiquette and basic tactics. Students will develop coordination\, confidence\, speed\, and agility while discovering the intricacies of this fascinating sport under the guidance of expert instructors. \nThis program is for students in grades 6-8. \nDates : Thursdays\, January 7\, 14\, 21\, 28 and Feb 4th \nInstruction Time: 1:15 – 2:15pm (instruction time) \nLocation :  Salt City Swords – transportation will be provided to and from Weilenmann \nCost: $120 \nWhat to Bring: Water bottle\, athletic clothing and footwear \nVolunteers: \nOur programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program.
