SUMMARY:Grit & Guidance: A Confidence\, Leadership & Resilience Workshop with Lindsey Vonn Foundation and Winter Sports School for Grades 3-5
DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance\, Lindsey Vonn Foundation\, and Winter Sports School are excited to once again partner for Grit & Guidance\, an interactive workshop designed to help students build confidence\, resilience\, and leadership skills both on and off the field of play.  Grounded in the Lindsey Vonn Foundation’s social-emotional learning curriculum\, participants will engage in hands-on activities\, small-group discussions\, and guided reflection as they explore what it means to navigate challenges\, persevere through setbacks\, build healthy relationships\, and lead with confidence. Each workshop is co-facilitated by Lindsey Vonn Foundation Youth Ambassadors and Winter Sports School student mentors\, creating a supportive\, near-peer environment where students can learn from young leaders with shared experiences.  To better support students at different developmental stages\, this year’s workshops will be offered as two separate sessions:  Grades 3–5 | October 2 | 3:15–5:00 PM & Grades 6–8 | October 9 | 3:15–5:00 PM.  All participants will receive a welcome bag and a guided reflection journal to continue building confidence\, resilience\, and leadership beyond the workshop.\n\nPartial Scholarship Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a one-day Woodward sports program for 1st-5th graders as part of the Get Out and Play Program (GO&P) at Midway Elementary. \nDates: Tuesday\, October 6 from 3:30 to 4:30pm \nLocation: Midway Elementary playground \nThis special one-day session is designed to give kids the opportunity to “taste” the wheel sports and parkour programs available at Woodward (skateboards/scooters). \nStudents will need a helmet if they have one and if they have knee/elbow pads. Woodward will bring scooters and skateboards to borrow but students are welcome to bring their own. \nRegistration closes on Tuesday\, September 28th \nVolunteers: Our programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program. Chaperone tickets are available at a reduced cost. Chaperones will receive a sizable discount on one (1) child’s registration. Please purchase a chaperone ticket for your child at registration. DESCRIPTION:Creative expression is infinite and there are no boundaries.  There is no better way to illustrate that\, than by trying different forms of art from around the world and across history. From Gyotaku (traditional Japanese fish printing)\, to Pop Art\, students will explore their own creative expressions through the lens of four\, very different art styles. The class will allow students to try different techniques\, while learning about their historical context. SUMMARY:Grit & Guidance: A Confidence\, Leadership & Resilience Workshop with Lindsey Vonn Foundation and Winter Sports School for Grades 6-8
DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance\, Lindsey Vonn Foundation\, and Winter Sports School are excited to once again partner for Grit & Guidance\, an interactive workshop designed to help students build confidence\, resilience\, and leadership skills both on and off the field of play.  Grounded in the Lindsey Vonn Foundation’s social-emotional learning curriculum\, participants will engage in hands-on activities\, small-group discussions\, and guided reflection as they explore what it means to navigate challenges\, persevere through setbacks\, build healthy relationships\, and lead with confidence. Each workshop is co-facilitated by Lindsey Vonn Foundation Youth Ambassadors and Winter Sports School student mentors\, creating a supportive\, near-peer environment where students can learn from young leaders with shared experiences.  To better support students at different developmental stages\, this year’s workshops will be offered as two separate sessions:  Grades 3–5 | October 2 | 3:15–5:00 PM & Grades 6–8 | October 9 | 3:15–5:00 PM.  All participants will receive a welcome bag and a guided reflection journal to continue building confidence\, resilience\, and leadership beyond the workshop.\n\nPartial Scholarship Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. The experienced staff at The Front will work with your child as they develop their strength and technique\, learn about proper gear use\, and build teamwork and communication skills. Everything is taught in a non-competitive atmosphere. This program is for students who attend the Sunset Campus of Wallace Stegner Academy and homeschool. DESCRIPTION:Registration closes Sunday\, Oct. 11 \nThe Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a special 1 day experience for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program at Zipline Utah. \nDates: Monday\, Oct. 19 from 1:30-4:30pm (program is from 2-4pm)  \nLocation: Zipline Utah\, Rainbow Bay\, Deer Creek State Park (transportation included from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle Schools) \n\n\n\n\nCome tackle one of the largest and most challenging ropes courses in the country\, and feel the adrenaline rush of ziplining off an 80-foot tower! Do you have what it takes to conquer all five levels? The Adventure Aerial Park is an open-air obstacle course\, suspended up to 70 feet in the air. As you climb\, each level increases in difficulty\, testing your skills and determination. This experience also includes two 600-foot ziplines and five smaller aerial bridges. Participants must weigh less than 250 lbs. \n\n\n\n\nTransportation is provided from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle School. Bus will pick up students immediately after school at Timpanogos and then pick up at Rocky Mountain before heading to Zipline Utah at Deer Creek State Park. \nBus Chaperone: To run this program with transportation we need a parent bus chaperone for each school. Chaperones will meet the students at the school and ride the bus to and from Deer Creek. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn from the best! These clinics are perfect for beginner or advanced golfers. New skills will be taught and current skills will be built upon. Don’t miss your chance to learn and develop your golfing skills! \nTransportation is not provided. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at Soldier Hollow Golf Course. \nRequired Equipment \n\nShoes and socks (no open-toe sandals)\nAthletic clothing (including a hat\, jacket and sunglasses)\nWater Bottle\n\nNEW!
