Impact Martial Arts is where children learn effective mixed martial arts technique\, with all of the safety\, respect\, character development\, and fun of traditional martial arts! In this program\, we will be taking the best foundational basics from different disciplines (like Karate\, American and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu\, Taekwondo\, Wrestling\, Boxing and Muay Thai) and blending them together for the ULTIMATE bully-proof confidence\, time tested self-defense\, and safe sport. At Impact Martial Arts\, we strive to make a forever impact in the lives of your children and the communities they will go on to shape! \nChaperone: We are looking for one adult volunteer to chaperone for all 3 weeks of the program. Duties include\, assist with taking role and ensure all kids are accounted for during the session. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited for this brand new program opportunity and to team up with Salt City Swords\, an organization dedicated to teaching fencing and swordsmanship. \nDates : Fridays December 4\, 11\, 18 \nTime: 1:40 – 4:15 (Instruction will be from 2:30-3:30 PM at Salt City Swords) \nLocation :  Salt City Swords – transportation will be provided from Ecker Hill and back \nDiscover the excitement of fencing\, one of the fastest and oldest sports in the Olympics! This four week course will cover the basics of modern-day sword fighting\, including footwork\, blade work\, rules\, etiquette and basic tactics. Students will develop coordination\, confidence\, speed\, and agility while discovering the intricacies of this fascinating sport under the guidance of expert instructors. \nWhat to Bring: Water bottle\, athletic clothing and footwear \nProgram Chaperone:  Our programs cannot run without parent volunteers. DESCRIPTION:Registration Closes: Tuesday\, December 8th \nCross country skiing is a great way to build fitness and enjoy being outdoors with friends. The ACTIV8 Cross Country Skiing program\, for students in 6th-12th grades is specifically designed to build ski skills and confidence in a fun environment! The sessions are intended for students who want to learn the fundamentals of cross country skiing through games\, drills\, and skiing with peers. \nPlease fill out this waiver. Your child will not be able to participate until it is completed. \nDates: Wednesday\, December 16 and Friday\, December 18 \nTimes: 2:30pm – 5:45pm (students will be at Soldier Hollow from 3:15-5:15pm) \nLocation: Soldier Hollow Nordic Center \nTransportation: This program includes transportation from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain middle schools and back afterwards.  \nThis program will happen rain or shine\, and there will be no refunds for bad weather. \nChaperones: Our programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program. DESCRIPTION:Registration Closes: Monday\, January 4th \nWe are excited to partner with Soldier Hollow to offer a 2 day introduction to the Kicker and Gliders program. Transportation from Daniels Canyon\, Old Mill and Midway elementary schools to Soldier Hollow and back is included.  \nThe Soldier Hollow Kickers and Gliders program is for youth ages 6-11 new to skiing or who are looking to improve their skills. Kickers and Gliders participants will learn the basics of cross-country skiing through exploring the trails\, playing games\, and doing drills on snow. This program is designed to help youth stay active in the outdoors and instill a love for the sport. All equipment is provided to participants. Registration covers equipment to ski\, trail passes\, and coaching. Participants will need to have warm weather clothing to stay warm during the Utah winter.  \nPlease fill out this waiver. Your child will not be able to participate until it is completed. \nDates: Tuesday\, January 12 and Thursday\, January 14 \nTimes: 3:30pm-6pm (students will be at Soldier Hollow from 4-5:30pm) \nLocation: Soldier Hollow Nordic Center \nTransportation: This program includes transportation to and from Old Mill\, JR Smith\, Heber Valley\, Midway\, and Daniels Elementary Schools. \nThis program will happen rain or shine\, and there will be no refunds for bad weather. \nChaperones: Our programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program. DESCRIPTION:Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to partner with the Olympic Oval to offer a new and engaging program: Olympic Experience. Each week\, students will be introduced to a different Olympic sport through hands-on learning and skill development. Along the way\, they will also explore the Olympic Oval’s vision: “To bring to life the Olympic & Paralympic spirit in our youth\, our communities\, and athletes from around the world.”  This program inspires students to embrace the values of teamwork\, perseverance\, excellence\, and sportsmanship while experiencing the excitement of Olympic and Paralympic sports.\n\n\n  \nDates : Wednesdays March 3\, 10\, 17\, 24 \nTime: 12:30-1:30 PM (This program will take place during school hours. Parents will need to sign the waiver and give permission for their student to miss instruction time during the day. Attendance\, grades\, and good behavior will be required to participate in this program and will be monitored by school staff. The course is designed for beginners and provides opportunities to build confidence\, improve focus\, and develop accuracy through guided instruction and hands-on practice.
