Woodward will bring scooters and skateboards to borrow but students are welcome to bring their own. \nRegistration closes on Monday\, September 15\, 2025 \nVolunteers: Our programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program. DESCRIPTION:Edison\nMountain View\nParkview\nWallace Stegner \nSPOCK’S SKATEBOARD CAMP: \nSpock’s Skate Camp has been inspiring young skaters since 2003\, when founder Spock—an experienced skateboarder and snowboard instructor—started teaching kids the basics of skateboarding in Salt Lake City. With a lifelong passion for skating that began back in 1977\, Spock built the camp around three core values: Safety\, Fun\, and Learning. Today\, the camp features handpicked\, highly trained instructors who know how to work with kids of all skill levels\, helping them build confidence and improve their skating in a supportive and exciting environment. For more information visit the website Spocksskatecamp.com \nBeginner to intermediate and advanced levels\, skaters will work on skills and learn the basics of skateboarding. Program runs for three weeks and will be held at The Vans Park SLC located at the Utah State Fairpark. Transportation is included. \nFor students in 3rd-5th grade. Over 4 weeks\, join the game and enjoy a full hour of fun as we work through the different sports offered on the Multi-sport simulator.  No equipment necessary. Sneakers recommended for ball sports. DESCRIPTION:Join the Summit Dance Project (SDP) for this 4 week session of jazz and hip hop dance. This is an introductory class and is for beginning students\, grades 1st – 5th\, who have little\, or no dance experience.  Under the guidance of SDP Company dancers\, students will learn basic techniques in these fun and energetic dance styles\, and use them to create combinations that they will perform on the last day of class. \nDates: Fridays October 10\, 17\, 24\, November 14 \nTime: 1:15 – 3:00pm \nLocation: Summit Dance Project Studios \nTransportation is now provided for this program from Parleys Park and Jeremy Ranch. \nNo refunds will be given once registration closes\, except under extenuating circumstances. \n  \nChaperone Tickets: \nOur programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program. SUMMARY:Luge - Three Week Program
DESCRIPTION:Dates October 17\, 24\, 31 \nStudents from 4th Grade – 9th Grade welcome \nCost is $100 – all registrations go through USA Luge. \nThe US Luge Association/Youth Winter Sports Alliance After School Luge Program is designed specifically for youth ages 8-13 (minimum height 52 inches)\, who have never been on a sled before. This program can lead directly to on-going training opportunities with the Wasatch Luge Club’s Youth Training Program and national level competitions. \nAll athletes start at curve 12\, the lowest point available on the track to run sleds. Here we take the first few runs on the last 4 curves (bottom ¼) of the track. Once everyone is comfortable we move up the track to the Tourist Start (one curve and straightaway higher). \nThe program runs for 3 consecutive Fridays with registered participants sliding on all three of the dates. After the program concludes athletes are then welcome to continue training with the Wasatch Luge Club’s Youth Training Program (meets Saturday nights). \nTransportation to the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) and athlete pick up from the UOP after sliding will need to be done by parents.  All athletes (students) need to be at the UOP by 2:00 PM. They will slide from 2:30-4:00 and be available for pick up at 4:00 PM. In this painting class\, we’ll explore the fascinating history of pet portraiture—starting with some of the earliest depictions of domesticated animals. \nUsing history as our backdrop\, you’ll learn to paint your own pet portraits inspired by different historical styles and artistic traditions. DESCRIPTION:Registration closes on Sunday\, October 19th \nExperience the sports offered inside Woodward’s world-class indoor facility including trampolines\, parkour\, skateboarding\, scooter and BMX riding. All abilities welcome. Students will choose Wheeled Sports (skateboarding and scooters) or Parkour/Acro (parkour\, acrobatics\, trampolines) as their focus. \nTransportation is provided from Old Mill and JR Smith elementary schools. \nDates: Monday\, Oct. 27\, Nov. 3\, 10\, 17 \nTime: 2:30- 5:30pm \nAges: 1st-5th grade (we cannot accommodate kindergarteners) \nProgram Fee:  $185 (standard)\, $50 (scholarship)\, $50 (bus coordinators) \nThe Program Fee includes transportation and instruction. \nStudents will meet the volunteers after school in a specified area. Students then board a bus for transport to Woodward Park City where they will have a lesson with their instructor. Once the lesson is completed\, students are transported back to JR Smith and Old Mill elementary schools where parents/guardians will pick them up. \nVolunteers: The entire program is parent supported and chaperoned\, so please do your best to assist! To make this program happen affordably we need parent volunteers. We need one volunteer from each school to be the chaperone to commit to be a bus chaperone all 4 weeks. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited for this brand new program opportunity and to team up with Salt City Swords\, an organization dedicated to teaching fencing and swordsmanship. \nDates : Mondays\, November 3\, 10\, 17\, 24  3:45-5:15 \nLocation :  Salt City Swords – transportation will be provided \nDiscover the excitement of fencing\, one of the fastest and oldest sports in the Olympics! This four week course will cover the basics of modern-day sword fighting\, including footwork\, blade work\, rules\, etiquette and basic tactics. Students will develop coordination\, confidence\, speed\, and agility while discovering the intricacies of this fascinating sport under the guidance of expert instructors. \nWhat to Bring:\n– Water bottle\, athletic clothing and footwear \nDon’t miss this great opportunity to introduce your youth to the oldest sport in the Olympics! \nOur programs cannot run without parent volunteers. If you volunteer\, your student participates for FREE (you will be refunded the price of the ticket).  Please choose a chaperone ticket below to sign up.  While we love to have someone commit for the full 4 weeks\, we will take parents week by week and you will be refunded for that week your student participates. \nScholarship Availability:  We want to provide the opportunity for as many students as possible to participate in our programs. If your child qualifies for the free and reduced lunch program and/or your family earns less than $50\,000 annually\, please select a Scholarship ticket to complete your registration. If you do not qualify for free and reduced lunch but earn less than $120\,000 annually and the registration fee is a burden for your family\, you may qualify for a partial scholarship. Please complete the Partial Scholarship Application linked here to help us understand your financial challenges. The information you choose to share with us is confidential and will be used only for purposes of determining your eligibility for a partial scholarship. You may be asked to provide documentation (i.e.\, paystubs\, tax forms\, or W-2s) to confirm your income and/or other financial information.
