DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a two-week keelboat sailing program for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Monday\, May 12 and 19\, 1:30-4:40pm (class is from 2:15-4:15pm) \nCome sail this spring with Park City Sailing for 2 keelboat sailing lessons at the Jordanelle Reservoir! Open to new and returning students. Instructors will review sailing basics and expand sailing skills for returning students. This is also a great opportunity for any new or experienced sailors interested in regional sailing team opportunities. \nTransportation is provided from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle School. Bus will pick up students immediately after school at Timpanogos and then pick up at Rocky Mountain before heading to Jordanelle. \nBus Chaperone: To run this program with transportation we need a parent bus chaperone to meet the students at the school and ride the bus to and from Jordanelle. This bill went into effect May 1st\, 2025 \nJoin us for a 30 minute presentation from: \n• Margaret Olsen Summit County Attorney’s Office \nA dedicated question and answer segment will follow\, focusing on the implications of Utah Law S.B. 158 for your organization. \nThis bill requires youth service organizations to: \nConduct a search of the Utah and national sex offender registries before employing or using as a volunteer an individual who would be responsible to care for or supervise children; and provide training and have policies and procedures concerning the identification and reporting of sexual abuse; provides that for certain purposes\, a youth service organization is considered negligent if it fails to conduct a sex offender registry search\, or employs or uses as a volunteer an individual who was on the Utah or national sex offender registry; allows an insurer to request information from a youth service organization concerning compliance with the requirements of this bill; and states that the provisions of the bill do not abrogate any existing cause of action or create a new private right of action. \n  \n

Looking to learn how to drop and jump safely and continuing to explore more advanced terrain.\n\n\n\nAdvanced\nComfortable on all blue technical and flow trails\, while retaining balance\, changing gears and braking instinctively at higher speeds on steeper\, more challenging terrain. Has significant mileage on black technical and flow trails with jumps and drops. Working on improving technique on black jumps and technical features.\n\n\n\nExpert\nProficient on all black technical and flow jump trails. Very experienced\, dynamic biker. Able to ride all trails confidently and quickly\, while retaining balance\, changing gears and braking instinctively at high speeds on steeper\, more difficult terrain. Open to new and returning students. Instructors will review sailing basics and expand sailing skills for returning students. This is also a great opportunity for any new or experienced sailors interested in regional sailing team opportunities. \nTransportation is provided from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle School. Bus will pick up students immediately after school at Timpanogos and then pick up at Rocky Mountain before heading to Jordanelle. \nProgram Chaperone: To run this program with transportation we need a parent bus chaperone to meet the students at the school and ride the bus to and from Jordanelle. DESCRIPTION:Registration closes on Friday\, August 29th \nThe Youth Sports Alliance is excited to offer a four-week mountain biking program for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nThis program is for participants who are beginners on trails\, and not for beginners on bikes as students should already know how to ride a bike and may have ridden some trails. We have teamed up with Young Riders who will be providing the coaching staff. The program covers beginner single track trails\, climbing\, descending\, obstacles and safety on the trails. \nDates: Mondays. Sept. 8\, 15\, 22\, 29 \nTime: 2:30 to 4:30pm \nLocation: Jordanelle Ridge Trail System (often referred to as Coyote) at UVU\, 3111 College Way\, Heber City \nTransportation is not provided. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at the Jordanelle Ridge Trail System at UVU. This program will happen rain or shine\, and there will be no refunds for bad weather. \nRequired Equipment \n\nBike\nHelmet (required\, your child will not be allowed to ride without a helmet)\nShoes and socks (no open-toe sandals)\nAthletic clothing\nProtective eye wear (sunglasses are best)\nCycling gloves\n\nVolunteers: Our programs depend on volunteers to keep them running smoothly and affordably. DESCRIPTION:Get Out & Play Mountain Biking – Fall 2025\nProgram: Get Out & Play (GO&P) Mountain BikingLocation: Jordanelle Ridge Trail System\, Heber City (behind UVU Wasatch Extension)Dates: Mondays — Sept. 8\, 15\, 22\, and 29Time: 4:30–6:00 PM \nDescription:Join us for four exciting\, skill-building sessions designed for students in grades 3–5 and middle schoolers from Soldier Hollow. Whether your child is brand new to mountain biking or already honing their skills\, this program offers: introduction to basic biking concepts\, safety practices and trail etiquette\, skill development through guided riding and fun games\, a supportive\, active group environment. \nWhat to Bring: \n\n\nBike  \n\n\nHelmet  \n\n\nWater bottle \n\n\nClosed-toe shoes  \n\n\n(Optional) gloves\, glasses\, sun protection\, and a snack \n\n\nRegistration closes Friday\, August 29. \nVolunteers: Our programs depend on volunteers to keep them running smoothly and affordably. For our mountain biking programs we need volunteers to ride as sweeps each week to ride at the back of the group. All volunteers must pass a background check. If your child qualifies for the free and reduced lunch program and/or your family earns less than $50\,000 annually\, please select a Scholarship ticket to complete your registration. If you do not qualify for free and reduced lunch but earn less than $120\,000 annually and the registration fee is a burden for your family\, you will qualify for a partial scholarship. The information you choose to share with us is confidential and will be used only for purposes of determining your eligibility for a partial scholarship. You may be asked to provide documentation (i.e.\, paystubs\, tax forms\, or W-2s) to confirm your income and/or other financial information.
