Our coaching team includes:\n\nNat Mills: 3-time Olympian and former 1000m US record holder.\nBrian Boudreau: Multi-time age group National Champion and Masters age group World Champion/World Record holder.\nRob Kramer: Multi-time National Champion and former professional marathon skater in Europe.\n\nDon’t miss this opportunity to learn from elite athletes/coaches and discover the exciting world of speed skating! DESCRIPTION:Whether your child is skating for the first time\, or has skated multiple times\, this is a great introductory program to many different aspects of skating. The first week will focus on the basic concepts of skating\, falling and how to get up. Kids will be divided up into groups and rotate through different stations that will teach specific skill sets\, play games and allow for “free skate” time.  Each of the following weeks will  focus on a specific type of skating\, including figure skating\, hockey and speed skating (or other fun activities). \nThere will always be something different to challenge the kids\, regardless of ability (with the exception of the highly skilled skater.) Keep in mind that that this program also focuses on “Fun On Ice” to get the kids out on the ice skating and having a good time with their friends. This program is not intended to be a supplement to strict club training. \nDates: Fridays April 25\, May 2\, 9\, 16 \nTimes: 1:30pm – 2:45pm (Time on ice\, does not include transportation to and from school). \nLocation: Park City Ice Arena \nTransportation is provided. SUMMARY:Call for Artists: Public Art Installation Opportunity at Recycle Utah with Morgan McCue
DESCRIPTION:In this class we will have the unique and exciting opportunity to create a public work of art for Recycle Utah. The creative installation will highlight the importance of decreasing plastic usage and it will be crafted entirely out of recycled materials.  On the first day\, a spokesperson for Recycle Utah will give the class an overview of the proposal request including the theme requirements\, materials\, and structural guidelines. The student artists will work collectively to develop this assignment from conception to completion. The course will culminate in a ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating their work which will be on permanent display at the Recycling Center in Park City. \nThe goal of this class is to expose students to different opportunities available to working artists and provide practical guidance on the application process. They will learn how to write a proposal\, create an execution plan\, and work collaboratively to bring a client’s objective to life. Students will have the added benefit of an education from Recycle Utah on the harmful impact of plastics on our environment and what they can do to help. \nThe class will meet at Ecker for the first session\, and Recycle Utah\, Park City for the last three sessions. We have teamed up with Young Riders who will be providing the coaching staff. \nThe program covers beginner single track trails\, climbing\, descending\, obstacles and safety on the trails. \nTransportation is not provided. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a two-week keelboat sailing program for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Monday\, May 12 and 19\, 1:30-4:40pm (class is from 2:15-4:15pm) \nCome sail this spring with Park City Sailing for 2 keelboat sailing lessons at the Jordanelle Reservoir! Open to new and returning students. Instructors will review sailing basics and expand sailing skills for returning students. This is also a great opportunity for any new or experienced sailors interested in regional sailing team opportunities. \nTransportation is provided from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle School. Bus will pick up students immediately after school at Timpanogos and then pick up at Rocky Mountain before heading to Jordanelle. \nBus Chaperone: To run this program with transportation we need a parent bus chaperone to meet the students at the school and ride the bus to and from Jordanelle. DESCRIPTION:TOPIC: Utah Law S.B. 158 \nThis new bill addresses requirements for youth organizations that hire individuals or use volunteers in the supervision of youth. This bill went into effect May 1st\, 2025 \nJoin us for a 30 minute presentation from: \n• Margaret Olsen Summit County Attorney’s Office \nA dedicated question and answer segment will follow\, focusing on the implications of Utah Law S.B. 158 for your organization. \nThis bill requires youth service organizations to: \nConduct a search of the Utah and national sex offender registries before employing or using as a volunteer an individual who would be responsible to care for or supervise children; and provide training and have policies and procedures concerning the identification and reporting of sexual abuse; provides that for certain purposes\, a youth service organization is considered negligent if it fails to conduct a sex offender registry search\, or employs or uses as a volunteer an individual who was on the Utah or national sex offender registry; allows an insurer to request information from a youth service organization concerning compliance with the requirements of this bill; and states that the provisions of the bill do not abrogate any existing cause of action or create a new private right of action. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Looking to improve your Mountain Bike skills? Come experience the lift served Deer Valley trails with coaching provided by the Deer Valley staff. This program will only be for intermediate to advanced riders (familiar with riding lift-served flow trails) between the ages of 10-14yrs old\, must be comfortable with trails like Pulp Friction\, Rusty Shovel in Round Valley. Work on skills like cornering\, braking and jumps in a safe fun environment. Limited spots available. \nAll registrants must complete the online waiver\, click here to complete and choose Summer Activities. \n\n\n\n\nIntermediate\nComfortable at slower speeds on blue technical and flow trails with roots\, loose rocks and single tracks\, while retaining balance\, changing gears and braking instinctively. Looking to learn how to drop and jump safely and continuing to explore more advanced terrain.\n\n\n\nAdvanced\nComfortable on all blue technical and flow trails\, while retaining balance\, changing gears and braking instinctively at higher speeds on steeper\, more challenging terrain. Has significant mileage on black technical and flow trails with jumps and drops. Working on improving technique on black jumps and technical features.\n\n\n\nExpert\nProficient on all black technical and flow jump trails. Very experienced\, dynamic biker. Able to ride all trails confidently and quickly\, while retaining balance\, changing gears and braking instinctively at high speeds on steeper\, more difficult terrain. Working on gaining experience on double black trails.
