DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers and snowboarders must be at a MINIMUM of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on blue runs or above). \nThis is an introductory course that takes place at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for students who are intermediate skiers and looking to learn how to nordic jump. Students will be introduced to nordic jumping through instruction provided by Park City Ski and Snowboard (PCSS). Students will need downhill skis and boots and they will start learning skills and good form on the downhill section\, then progress to a small snow made jump\, and then continue to advance to larger jumps. \nProgram fee: $180 \nThe program fee includes UOP pass\, instruction and transportation \nDates: Monday\, Feb. 26\, Mar. 4\, 11\, 18 \nTime: 3:00 – 6:30pm (instruction from 4:00 – 6:00pm) \nGrades: 3rd-8th \nTransportation Provided  \nWasatch: Parents/Guardians will drop off students at the UVU Wasatch extension parking lot to meet the chaperones to go up to the UOP by bus at 3:00pm and pick up in the UVU parking lot at 6:30pm. \nNorth Summit and South Summit: TBD \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. Sports 4 Girls\, a multi-sport program that empowers kids through sports! Join us for the Monday spring session of our trademark Multi-Sport Class! Class runs from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Old Mill Elementary School and is open to all kids in elementary school. \nA great way to expose and introduce your child to team sports! Explore and learn a different sport every week. We may cover basketball\, soccer\, tennis\, softball\, lacrosse\, volleyball\, and more in a FUN\, nurturing and positive environment! DESCRIPTION:The Get Out & Play Alpine Intro to Skiing program will give kids the opportunity to learn and progress their skiing or snowboarding skills alongside their peers. This program is for those who are brand new to skiing/snowboarding or are at a beginner/ beginner-intermediate level. This program is based on our unique partnership with Woodward. \nThis is a program for North Summit students 1st-4th grade. The program begins immediately after school with students gearing up with the help of their guardian and/or parent volunteers. Students will take YSA provided transportation to Woodward where they will have a two (2) hour lesson with their instructor. Once the lesson is over\, students will be brought back to the school to be picked up. \nVolunteers needed! The entire program is parent supported and chaperoned\, so please do your best to assist! To make this program happen affordably\, we need parent volunteers. A volunteer for Lead Chaperone will receive a sizable discount on one (1) child’s registration. Other volunteer positions include an additional bus chaperone. SUMMARY:Skeleton - Three Week Program 5th-7th grade
DESCRIPTION:Fridays- February 16\, March 1 and March 8 \nUOP Skeleton and Bobsled is the club development program for bobsled and skeleton. We’re a feeder program for the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation. As part of the session\, participants will first do a track walk with their coach to get an idea of how to steer a sled on ice. Next\, they will take two runs on a skeleton sled from the Tourist start (entrance of curve 11). \nThe program runs for 3 consecutive Fridays with registered participants sliding on all three of the dates. After the program concludes athletes are then welcome to continue training with the UOP Youth Sliding Program (meets on Wednesdays and Saturdays). \nEquipment: The Utah Olympic Park will provide skeleton sleds\, helmets and elbow pads. YOU will need to bring clothes to slide in: Lower body- spandex tights\, sweats or track pants preferably with tapered legs. Upper body-outer layer sweatshirt that is somewhat abrasion resistant\, without hood and not too baggy-basically clothes that can get damaged. NO EXPOSED SKIN. Also\, please bring a beanie\, gloves\, and warm jacket and snow pants for track walk. \nNo Transportation Provided: Transportation to the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) and athlete pick up from the UOP after sliding will need to be done by parents.  All athletes (students) need to be at the UOP by 2:00pm. They will slide from 2:30-3:30pm and be available for pick up at 3:30pm. Parents are gladly invited to stay and watch. \nDirections: All participants will meet at the Bobsled/Skeleton finish dock. Once you drive to the UOP\, pass the Museum on your left and follow the road towards the bobsled track.  When you come to a gate (5843*) proceed around the road and the bobsled track will be on your left side. Keep following the road until you come to a parking lot on your left. Please do not park in the parking lot but on the downhill side of the road. DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers and snowboarders must be at a MINIMUM of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on blue runs or above). Snowboarders must be able to link turns on intermediate runs. \nThis is an introductory course that takes place at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for students who are intermediate skiers and snowboarders and those looking to learn how to nordic jump. Snowboarders must be a true intermediate and able to make turns down a run similar to Payday at Park City Mountain. Students will be introduced to nordic jumping\, freestyle skiing or freestyle snowboarding through instruction provided by Park City Ski and Snowboard (PCSS). \nDates: Fridays Feb. 2\, 9\, 16\, March 1; 1:15-3 pm \nProgram Fee: $180 \nThe program fee includes transportation\, UOP pass and instruction. \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. DESCRIPTION:This is a program for South and North Summit students (1st-5th graders) and is for complete beginners. If you did this program last year\, please consider signing up for the GOAP South Summit and North Summit  – Ski/Snowboard Progression (Woodward) Sponsored by Kodiak; Mondays 2024 program at Woodward. \nThe Get Out & Play Alpine Skiing/Snowboarding programs give kids the opportunity to begin skiing and snowboarding alongside their peers. The program is based on the unique partnerships we have built with our local resorts and utilizes their talented ski instructors. This program takes place at Park City Mountain Ski Resort. \nThe program begins immediately after school with students gearing up with the help of parent volunteers. Students then board a bus for transport to the ski hill where they will have a 2 hour ski or snowboard lesson with their instructor. Fifth graders will need to come to the elementary school to meet the bus. Once the lesson is completed\, students are driven back to school where parents can pick them up. \nVolunteers needed! The entire program is parent supported and chaperoned\, so please do your best to assist! To make this program happen affordably\, we need parent volunteers. Volunteers for Lead Chaperone will receive a sizable discount on one (1) child’s registration. Additional Bus Chaperones will also be needed. To volunteer\, please select the Lead Chaperone ticket or click HERE to sign up as a bus chaperone. DESCRIPTION:The Get Out & Play Alpine Skiing/Snowboarding Progression programs give kids the opportunity to progress their skiing and snowboarding skills alongside their peers. The program is based on our unique partnership with Woodward. \nThis is a program for South & North Summit students (1st-5th grade). This program is for those who have tried our Learn to ski/snowboard program and now want to progress those skills on the slopes at Woodward. This program will help to refine the skills your child has learned and introduce them to new skills. These lessons are designed for skiers/snowboarders who can already turn and stop on their own and are eager to be more controlled\, consistent\, and confident on the mountain. This is not a program for complete beginners. For a beginner program\, please register for the South $ North Summit -Learn to Ski/Snowboard program at Park City Mountain. \nThe program begins immediately after school with students gearing up with the help of parent volunteers. Fifth graders will need to come to the elementary school to load the bus. Students will take YSA provided transportation to Woodward where they will have a 2 hour ski or snowboard lesson with their instructor. Once the lesson is completed\, students are transported back to the school where parents can pick them up. \nVolunteers needed! The entire program is parent supported and chaperoned\, so please do your best to assist! To make this program happen affordably\, we need parent volunteers. Volunteers for Lead Chaperone will receive a sizable discount on one (1) child’s registration. Other volunteer positions include Bus Chaperones. To volunteer\, please select the Lead Chaperone ticket or click HERE to sign up as a bus chaperone. Contact Jana Johnson with any questions. \nDates: January 22\, January 29\, February 5\, February 12 \nTime:  Buses will arrive by 3:00pm with an aim to be at Woodward around 3:45pm and return to the school around 6:30pm. \nProgram Fee:  $180 \nThe program fee includes transportation\, lift ticket\, and instruction. \nRegistration Deadline: Registration will close on November 30\, 2023 at 11:30pm. \nRequired Equipment/Gear: skis/snowboard and boots\, helmet\, googles\, water-proof gloves/mittens and proper snow clothing. \nIMPORTANT NOTES \n\nNo refunds will be issued for bad weather\, illness\, or once the program has started.\nEquipment is not provided (except with full scholarship tickets). If renting equipment\, please do so early. Shops sell out or stop selling season rentals in Nov. If you need help finding a shop\, please contact us.\n\nSCHOLARSHIPS:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. Students will learn the basics of climbing techniques as well as learning how to safely climb in an indoor environment. Along with climbing\, they will learn how to tie into harnesses and climb on rope\, climbing technique\, equipment\, safety\, problem solving\, trust\, teamwork\, strength and endurance\, along with so much more. \nTransportation is not provided.
