DESCRIPTION:This program has been moved to the Jordanelle Ridge Trail System (often referred to as Coyote) at UVU\, 3111 College Way\, Heber City. \nThe Youth Sports Alliance is excited to offer a four-week mountain biking program for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Mondays from 2:30 to 4:30pm on April 29\, May 6\, 13\, 20 \nThis program is for participants who are beginners on trails\, and not for beginners on bikes as students should already know how to ride a bike and may have ridden some trails. We have teamed up with Young Riders who will be providing the coaching staff. \nThe program covers beginner single track trails\, climbing\, descending\, obstacles and safety on the trails. \nTransportation is not provided. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at Dutch Hollow Trailhead Jordanelle Ridge Trail System at UVU. SUMMARY:GO&P Ice Skating April 2024
DESCRIPTION:Whether your child is skating for the first time\, or has skated multiple times\, this is a great introductory program to many different aspects of skating. The first week will focus on the basic concepts of skating\, falling and how to get up. Kids will be divided up into groups and rotate through different stations that will teach specific skill sets\, play games and allow for “free skate” time.  Each of the following weeks will  focus on a specific type of skating\, including figure skating\, hockey and speed skating (or other fun activities). \nThere will always be something different to challenge the kids\, regardless of ability (with the exception of the highly skilled skater.) Keep in mind that that this program also focuses on “Fun On Ice” to get the kids out on the ice skating and having a good time with their friends. This program is not intended to be a supplement to strict club training. \nDates: April 26\, May 3\, 10\, 17 \nTimes: 1:30pm – 2:45pm (Time on ice\, does not include transportation to and from school). \nLocation: Park City Ice Arena \nTransportation is provided. Students from Silver Summit Academy and Telos Classical Academy may ride the bus from Trailside Elementary School. Students from Park City Day School may ride the bus from Jeremy Ranch Elementary School. \nWe are looking for a Program Coordinator for each of the schools. DESCRIPTION:Registration closes on Friday\, March 22 at 9am. \nExperience the sports offered inside Woodward’s world-class indoor facility including trampolines\, parkour\, skateboarding\, scooter and BMX riding. All abilities welcome. Students will choose wheeled sports (skateboarding and scooters) or parkour/acrobatics as their focus. \nTransportation is provided from Midway\, Heber Valley\, Daniels Canyon\, Old Mill and JR Smith elementary schools. \nDates: Monday\, March 25\, Apr. 1\, 15\, 22 \nTime: 2:30- 5:30pm \nAges: 1st-5th grade (we cannot accomodate kindergarteners) \nProgram Fee:  $180 (standard)\, $50 (scholarship)\, $50 (bus coordinators) \nThe Program Fee includes transportation and instruction. \nStudents will meet parent/gaurdian volunteers after school in a specified area. Students then board a bus for transport to Woodward where they will have a lesson with their instructor. Once the lesson is completed\, students are transported back to JR Smith\, Heber Valley and Midway elementary schools where parents/gaurdians will pick them up. \nThe entire program is parent supported and chaperoned\, so please do your best to assist! To make this program happen affordably we need parent volunteers. SUMMARY:ACTIV8 Wasatch Indoor Climbing at the Fit Stop - Mar 2024\, Sponsored by Kodiak
DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance is excited to offer a four-week indoor climbing program at the Fit Stop for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 program\, sponsored by Kodiak. \nDates: Mondays from 2:30 to 3:30pm on March 25\, April 1\, 15\, 22. \nThe FitStop youth ACTIV8 program is a wonderful program where students will get to experience the Crag Climbing Wall. Students will learn the basics of climbing techniques as well as learning how to safely climb in an indoor environment. Along with climbing\, they will learn how to tie into harnesses and climb on rope\, climbing technique\, equipment\, safety\, problem solving\, trust\, teamwork\, strength and endurance\, along with so much more. \nTransportation is not provided. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at the Fit Stop \nRequired Equipment \n\nWaiver\nWater Bottle\nShoes and socks (no open-toe sandals)\nAthletic clothing\n\nNEW! Partial Scholarship Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. If your child qualifies for the free and reduced lunch program and/or your family earns less than $50\,000 annually\, please select a Scholarship ticket to complete your registration. If you do not qualify for free and reduced lunch but earn less than $120\,000 annually and the registration fee is a burden for your family\, you may qualify for a partial scholarship. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a four-week tumbling class with Apex Gardens for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Monday\, March 25\, April 1\, 15\, and 22 1:30-2:30 pm \nLocation: Timpanogos Middle School \nApex Garden NinJedi class is for beginners to advanced students looking to improve their strength\, flexibility\, coordination\, balance and tumbling skills. If you are learning a cartwheel for the first time or learning full-twisting layouts\, we have you covered. The class also focuses on fundamentals of self defense and using focus to achieve physical and educational goals. \nNEW! Partial Scholarship Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. SUMMARY:GOAP South Summit- Woodward Indoor Acro/Parkour or Wheeled Sports 2024
DESCRIPTION:Experience all the sports offered inside Woodward’s world-class facility including trampolines and parkour\, or skateboarding\, scooter and BMX riding.  Students can choose to participate in either acro (trampolines and parkour) or wheeled-sports (skateboarding\, scooter\, or BMX) with Woodward coaches.  All abilities welcome. \nVolunteers will be needed in order to provide transportation: A volunteer for Lead Chaperone will receive a sizable discount on one (1) child’s registration. Please select the lead chaperone ticket or contact jjohnson@ywsa.org with questions. This person will need to ride the bus each week. An additional bus chaperone will also be needed to assist the lead each week. We can offer a second discounted chaperone ticket if there are two people able to chaperone for all four sessions. \nThis program is for grades 1st-4th. \nDates: March 8\, 15\, 29\, April 12; 2:45-4:15 pm \nTransportation is provided. The bus will leave South Summit Elementary about 2:15 and arrive back at the school for pick up around 4:45pm. \nRegistration will close March 1\, 2024 @ 6pm. \nScholarships:  \n\nScholarship ticket: This ticket is available for families earning less than $50\,000 annually or on free or reduced lunch program.
