DESCRIPTION:This is an Ecker Hill\, Treasure Mountain\, Park City High School\, South Summit\, Silver Summit Academy\, Park City Day School\, Telos Classical Academy and Home School program. \nCross country skiing is a great way to build fitness and enjoy being outdoors with friends\, and the ACTiV8 – Cross Country Skiing program is specifically designed to build ski skills and confidence in a fun environment! The sessions are intended for students who want to learn the fundamentals of cross country skiing through games\, drills\, and skiing with peers. \n**Transportation is not provided for this program – if this becomes a hardship\, please reach out to heather@ysausa.org. If there are enough people wanting transportation we may be able to provide it with an extra cost.** \nDates: Jan 10\, 17\, 24\, 31 \nTimes: 3:15pm – 5:00pm \nLocation: White Pine Nordic Center located at the Park City Golf Course 1541 Thaynes Canyon Drive\, Park City\, UT 84060 \nDrop-off/Pick-up: Please arrive at 3:00pm to allow students time to get their equipment and suit up. Return to the Nordic Center by 4:45PM so you are available to pick your student(s) up when lessons end at 5:00PM. \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. SUMMARY:Get Out & Play\, McPolin and Parley's Park UOP Nordic Jumping\, Freestyle Skiing or Freestyle Snowboarding sponsored by Kodiak
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers and snowboarders must be at a MINIMUM of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on blue runs or above). Snowboarders must be able to link turns on intermediate runs. \nThis is an introductory course that takes place at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for students who are intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Snowboarders must be a true intermediate and able to make turns down a run similar to Payday at Park City Mountain. Participants will choose either nordic jumping\, freestyle skiing or freestyle snowboarding. Instruction provided by Park City Ski and Snowboard (PCSS). \nFreeski/Freestyle: Explore the terrain parks and mogul courses at the Utah Olympic Park\, the training grounds of the US Ski Team\, with knowledgeable and experienced coaches from PCSS’s Freestyle All Skills Team. Intermediate skiers will ride a range of freestyle/freeski terrain as an introduction to slopestyle and mogul disciplines. Athletes will learn and hone basic skills in the following areas: skiing switch (backwards)\, sliding rails and boxes\, hitting various sized jumps (incorporating basic tricks like grabs and spins when ready)\, and maintaining an aggressive stance while finding rhythm in an entry-level competition-style mogul course. \nSnowboard: Get started in the exciting world of Freestyle Snowboarding at the UOP with incredible terrain and incredible coaches. The UOP offers a variety of jumps and boxes to fast-forward your riding and have some fun on the hill with some new friends. Coaches will focus on skill development and some freestyle terrain. This is a great program to gain confidence on your board in a world class environment.  \nSki Jumping: Experience the thrill of ski jumping in a safe and controlled environment. Skiers will spend their time on our small nordic jumps and progress from the landing hill of the smallest jump (10M) and have opportunities to progress to the 10M\, 20M and even 40M ski jump. This program can be done on any alpine skis (poles are not used).  \nNordic Combine: For students interested in learning about the sport of Nordic Combine (a combination of ski jumping & cross country skiing)\, please contact Adam at aloomis@parkcityss.org for program options with Park City Ski and Snowboard.  \nDates: Fridays Jan. 10\, 17\, 24\, 31; 1:15-3 pm \nProgram Fee: $180 \nThe program fee includes transportation\, UOP pass\, and instruction. \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. DESCRIPTION:Whether your child is skating for the first time\, or has skated multiple times\, this is a great introductory program to many different aspects of skating. The first week will focus on the basic concepts of skating\, falling and how to get up. Kids will be divided up into groups and rotate through different stations that will teach specific skill sets\, play games and allow for “free skate” time.  Each of the following weeks will  focus on a specific type of skating\, including figure skating\, hockey and speed skating (or other fun activities). \nThere will always be something different to challenge the kids\, regardless of ability (with the exception of the highly skilled skater.) Keep in mind that that this program also focuses on “Fun On Ice” to get the kids out on the ice skating and having a good time with their friends. DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers and snowboarders must be at a MINIMUM of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on blue runs or above). Snowboarders must be able to link turns on intermediate runs. \nThis is an introductory course that takes place at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for students who are intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Snowboarders must be a true intermediate and able to make turns down a run similar to Payday at Park City Mountain. Participants will choose either nordic jumping\, freestyle skiing/freeski\, or freestyle snowboarding. Instruction provided by Park City Ski and Snowboard (PCSS). \nFreeski/Freestyle: Explore the terrain parks and mogul courses at the Utah Olympic Park\, the training grounds of the US Ski Team\, with knowledgeable and experienced coaches from PCSS’s Freestyle All Skills Team. Intermediate skiers will ride a range of freestyle/freeski terrain as an introduction to slopestyle and mogul disciplines. Athletes will learn and hone basic skills in the following areas: skiing switch (backwards)\, sliding rails and boxes\, hitting various sized jumps (incorporating basic tricks like grabs and spins when ready)\, and maintaining an aggressive stance while finding rhythm in an entry-level competition-style mogul course. \nSnowboard: Get started in the exciting world of Freestyle Snowboarding at the UOP with incredible terrain and incredible coaches. The UOP offers a variety of jumps and boxes to fast-forward your riding and have some fun on the hill with some new friends. Coaches will focus on skill development and some freestyle terrain. This is a great program to gain confidence on your board in a world class environment.  \nSki Jumping: Experience the thrill of ski jumping in a safe and controlled environment. Skiers will spend their time on our small nordic jumps and progress from the landing hill of the smallest jump (10M) and have opportunities to progress to the 10M\, 20M and even 40M ski jump. DESCRIPTION:Weilenmann Program \nIMPORTANT! Skiers must be at a minimum of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on Blue runs or above). Snowboarders must be able to link turns on intermediate runs. \nIntroduction to terrain parks including park etiquette\, transitions and small features; more advanced students learn tricks on rails\, jumps and in the halfpipe following safe progressions.  All students learn from our professional Woodward coaches and use our innovative terrain parks. \nDates: Thursdays Jan 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, Feb 6; 1:30-2:45 pm \nTransportation will not be provided. \nRegistration Deadline: Be sure to register early as registration will close on Nov. 30th. \nIMPORTANT NOTES – We will ski regardless of the weather\, and no refunds will be available for bad weather. \nScholarships: \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. Through unique partnerships with local resorts\, the program features instruction by talented ski professionals\, ensuring a fun and supportive learning environment. This program is geared towards Homeschool\, Wasatch Learning Academy\, and Thriving Day Academy students. \nProgram Details: \n\nDates: Thursdays\, January 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, and February 6\nTime: 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm (Class runs from 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm)\nTransportation: Bus transportation is provided to and from the Canyons side of Park City Mountain Resort. Pick-up and drop-off occur at Southfield Park in Heber\, near the pickleball courts and skate park.\nVenue: Canyons Village at Park City Mountain Resort\nProgram Fee:\n\n$210 with a season pass\n$235 without a season pass\n$50 scholarship (for students on free and reduced lunch)\n$150 sibling\nThe fee includes lift tickets (for participants without a season pass)\, instruction\, and transportation.\n\n\n\nScholarships Available: \n\nRegular Scholarships are available for families who qualify for free and reduced lunch or with annual incomes below $50\,000. Join us for a special 1-day Get Out & Play (GO&P) Cross-Country Skiing program with Team SoHo\, designed to introduce kids to skiing skills and build their confidence through fun games and engaging drills in a supportive environment. \nThis class is for students in 1st to 5th grades. We’ll pick up participants from Daniels Canyon\, Old Mill and Midway Elementary Schools\, transporting them to Soldier Hollow and returning them to their schools afterward.
