SUMMARY:ACTIV8 Wasatch Introduction to Biathlon Fall 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a four-week introduction to biathlon program for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Monday\, October 2\, 9\, 30\, and November 6 from 1:30-3:30pm \nThe Soldier Hollow biathlon experience provides a taste of biathlon competition on the 2002 Olympic Biathlon Range in Midway\, Utah. During the 4-week session\, participants will learn firearm safety and the fundamentals of marksmanship using German air-rifles. The second half of the course will introduce shooting with a heart rate and will culminate with a fun mini competition. \nYou must fill out this Soldier Hollow waiver BEFORE the first day of the program. Your child will not be able to participate until it is completed. This program will happen rain or shine\, and there will be no refunds for bad weather. \nTransportation is provided from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle School. Bus will pick up students immediately after school at Timpanogos and then pick up at Rocky Mountain before heading to Jordanelle. \nBus Chaperone: To run this program with transportation we need a parent bus chaperone to meet the students at the school and ride the bus to and from Soldier Hollow. To volunteer\, purchase your child the chaperone student ticket. DESCRIPTION:*This program is for 1st and 2nd graders. Transportation is provided. \nDates: September 15\, 22\, 29 \nTimes: 2:15-4 \nWhen kids spend time outside they become healthier in their bodies and minds. Unstructured free play in nature helps develop a child’s imagination\, cognitive\, reasoning and observation skills\, motor skills\, physical fitness\, and social skills. \nJoin us as we partner with Summit Land Conservancy for Kids Outdoors. This program is a time for children to gain an understanding of the natural world and have the opportunity to explore the peaks\, creeks\, and woodlands that make the Kamas Valley beautiful. We’ll travel each week to special places along the Weber River and to the foot of the Uinta Mountains. \nThere’s time to learn about the land\, water\, and wildlife that surrounds us. Explore the land to collect beautiful leaves and learn about trees\, seeds\, berries and grasses. Study tracks and look for other traces of wildlife. Trace the Weber’s water flow and learn its importance to supporting life in the valley. And PLAY! DESCRIPTION:The YSA is excited to offer a four-week golf skills program for 1st-5th graders as part of the Get Out and Play Program. \nDates: Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30pm on September 11\, 18\, 25 and October 2 \nReady to learn new golf skills this Fall while the weather is still great? The golf skills class will be held outdoors at Soldier Hollow Golf Course. The staff at The Golf Lodge is ready to bring your Junior Golfer to the next level. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn from the best! These clinics are perfect for beginner or advanced golfers. New skills will be taught and current skills will be built upon. Don’t miss your chance to learn and develop your golfing skills! \nTransportation is not provided. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at Soldier Hollow Golf Course. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance is excited to offer a four-week mountain biking program for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Mondays from 2:30 to 4:30pm on September 11\, 18\, 25 and October 2 \nThis program is for participants who are beginners on trails\, and not for beginners on bikes as students should already know how to ride a bike and may have ridden some trails. We have teamed up with Young Riders who will be providing the coaching staff. \nThe program covers beginner single track trails\, climbing\, descending\, obstacles and safety on the trails. \nTransportation is not provided. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at Dutch Hollow Trailhead. Dutch Hollow is a fee area. If you stay after dropping off your child you will need to pay the parking fee. DESCRIPTION:All-Star Madness – All-Star Madness is for players who want to work on their skills but play a lot of fun games as well. \nAll-Star Madness is a mix of skill work and fun games.  Each class is one hour long.  Players will work on different skills each week and then have an All-Star competition or game that works on those specific skills.Ideal Baller: Players looking for a mix of drills and fun games as opposed to all drills. \nDates: September 8\, 15\, 22\, 29 \nTimes:12:40-1:40pm \nPartial Scholarship Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. SUMMARY:Get out and Play Woodward Multi-Sport September 2023
DESCRIPTION: Experience all the sports offered inside Woodward’s world-class indoor facility including trampolines\, parkour\, skateboarding\, scooter and BMX riding.  Students rotate through the sports with professional Woodward coaches to allow for progression\, students will receive some structured coaching and some free time to practice their new skills\,  all abilities welcome. \nTransportation is provided. Leave school at 12:30 and arrive back at approximately 3:30pm. \nDates:  Fridays Sept 8\, 15\, 22 & 29; 1:30-3:00pm \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually.
