SUMMARY:GO&P Ice Skating\, Session 2 (2023)
DESCRIPTION:Whether your child is skating for the first time\, or has skated multiple times\, this is a great introductory program to many different aspects of skating. The first week will focus on the basic concepts of skating\, falling and how to get up. Kids will be divided up into groups and rotate through different stations that will teach specific skill sets\, play games and allow for “free skate” time.  Each of the following weeks will  focus on a specific type of skating\, including figure skating\, hockey and speed skating (or other fun activities). \nThere will always be something different to challenge the kids\, regardless of ability (with the exception of the highly skilled skater.) This program is not intended to be a supplement to strict club training. \nDates: March 10th\, 24th\, 31st and April 7th. \n**There will not be ice skating class March 17th.** \nTimes: 1:30pm – 2:45pm \nLocation: Park City Ice Arena \nTransportation is provided. You have tried our learn to ski/snowboard programs\, now progress those skills on the slopes at Woodward. This program will help to refine the skills you have learned and introduce you to new skills. These lessons are designed for skiers/snowboarders who can already turn and stop on their own and are eager to continue to get more controlled\, consistent\, and confident on the mountain. This is not a program for complete beginners. For a beginner program click HERE. \nThe Get Out & Play Alpine Skiing/Snowboarding program gives kids the opportunity to progress skiing and snowboarding alongside their peers. The program is based on our unique partnership with Woodward. \nDates: Monday\, January 23\, 30\, February 6\, and 13 \nTime:  Buses will arrive 3:00pm with an aim to be at the mountain for 3:45pm and return around 6:30pm. \nProgram Fee:  $180 \nThe Program Fee includes transportation\, lift ticket\, and instruction. \nParents/guardians will drop off their children at 3:00pm at the upper Wasatch UVU parking lot with their gear and in their snow clothes. Students then board a bus for transport to the ski hill where they will have a 2½ hour ski or snowboard lesson with their instructor. Once the lesson is completed\, students are transported back to Wasatch where parents can pick them up. \nThe entire program is parent supported and chaperoned\, so please do your best to assist! To make this program happen affordably we need parent volunteers. Volunteers for Lead School Coordinator will receive a sizable discount on one (1) child’s registration. Other volunteer positions include Bus Chaperones. To volunteer please contact Amanda Sorensen 801-400-5044 or amanda@ysausa.org \nIMPORTANT NOTES \n\nNo refunds will be issued for bad weather.\nStudents must be present at the first lesson.\n\nSCHOLARSHIPS:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. Just select a Scholarship ticket below to complete the registration process for your child.\nPartial Scholarships are now also available for families earning between $50\,000 and $100\,000 annually. To apply for a Partial Scholarship\, please complete the application linked here to help us understand your financial challenges.\n\nPlease don’t send your child sick.
