SUMMARY:ACTiV8 Woodward Freestyle Progression 2027 for Middle School
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers/riders must be at a minimum of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on Blue runs or above). Snowboarders must be able to link turns on intermediate runs. \nFreestyle introduction for skiers and snowboarders in our terrain parks includes park etiquette\, transitions\, and small features; accessed from our moving carpet conveyor. Advanced freestyle students learn tricks on rails\, jumps and in the halfpipe following safe progressions and will move frequently between chair access zones and moving carpet conveyer access zone.  All students learn from our professional Woodward coaches and use our progessive terrain parks. \nDates: Fridays\, February 12\, 26\, March 5 & 12th  \nTimes: 4:15-6:00pm \nThere is no transportation for this program \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. Just select a Scholarship ticket below to complete the registration process for your child.\nPartial Scholarships are now also available for families earning between $50\,000 and $120\,000 annually. To apply for a Partial Scholarship\, please complete the application linked here to help us understand your financial challenges.\n\nVolunteers:\nOur programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program. In this fun\, hands-on four-week photography class\, students will learn how to take photos that stand out! We’ll explore the basics of composition\, lighting\, storytelling\, and creative techniques that make everyday photos look amazing. Whether they’re using a camera or a smartphone\, students will gain practical skills\, complete fun photo challenges\, and build confidence behind the lens. Only 10 spots available for this program\, sign up today! \nDates : Wednesdays  Feb 17\, 24\,  March 3\, 10 \n Time: 12;15-1:15 PM \nGrades: 4-8 \nLocation :  Held onsite afterschool at Monticello Academy \nCost: $60 standard ticket/$20 scholarship ticket (see below) \nWhat to Bring:\n– Water bottle\, a cellphone with a camera (if you have one)\, a camera (if you have one) \nWe have 8 Canon Cameras that may be used for this program. DESCRIPTION:Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to partner with the Olympic Oval to offer a new and engaging program: Olympic Experience. Each week\, students will be introduced to a different Olympic sport through hands-on learning and skill development. Along the way\, they will also explore the Olympic Oval’s vision: “To bring to life the Olympic & Paralympic spirit in our youth\, our communities\, and athletes from around the world.”  This program inspires students to embrace the values of teamwork\, perseverance\, excellence\, and sportsmanship while experiencing the excitement of Olympic and Paralympic sports.\n\n\n  \nDates : Wednesdays March 3\, 10\, 17\, 24 \nTime: 12:30-1:30 PM (This program will take place during school hours. Parents will need to sign the waiver and give permission for their student to miss instruction time during the day. Attendance\, grades\, and good behavior will be required to participate in this program and will be monitored by school staff. Any missed work will need to be made up.) \nLocation :  Olympic Oval – Transportation will be provided from Wallace Stegner Kearns Campus \nVenue Waiver: This waiver must be filled out in order to participate. For this specific program\, discover the excitement of ARCHERY! This four week course teaches the fundamentals of safe and accurate archery. Students will learn proper range safety\, equipment use\, aiming techniques\, arrow release\, and target practice. The course is designed for beginners and provides opportunities to build confidence\, improve focus\, and develop accuracy through guided instruction and hands-on practice.
