SUMMARY:Homeschool only Ski at Deer Valley December 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Get Out & Play Alpine Ski and Snowboard program gives kids the opportunity to begin or continue to learn skiing skills alongside their peers. The program is based on the unique partnerships we have built with our local resorts\, and utilizes their talented ski instructors. \nDates: December 8\,10\, 15\, 17 \nTimes: 9am-12pm (pick up at Richardson Flat at 8:30am) \nVenue: Deer Valley \nFor skiers aged  7-12 \nWaivers – online waiver must also be completed. \nTransportation is provided for this program to and from Richardson Flat Park and Ride. There will be no pick up or drop off at the resort. All attendees must ride the provided transportation. \nEarly Bird Program Fee: $220 w/season pass; $245 w/o season pass. The Program Fee includes lift tickets (if your child does not have a season pass) and instruction. Prices increase after November 20th to $240 w/season pass and $265 without a pass. \nScholarships: \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. More advanced skiers may want to instead sign up for the UOP and/or Woodward programs\, or the Cross Country Skiing program. \nNational Ability Center (NAC) Assistance:  If your child will need assistance from the NAC\, please contact Mallory Dehm at mallory.dehm@nationalabilitycenter.org once you’ve completed registration. \nThe entire program is parent supported and chaperoned\, so please do your best to assist! DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited for this brand new program opportunity and to team up with Salt City Swords\, an organization dedicated to teaching fencing and swordsmanship. \nDates : Fridays December 4\, 11\, 18 \nTime: 1:40 – 4:15 (Instruction will be from 2:30-3:30 PM at Salt City Swords) \nLocation :  Salt City Swords – transportation will be provided from Ecker Hill and back \nDiscover the excitement of fencing\, one of the fastest and oldest sports in the Olympics! This four week course will cover the basics of modern-day sword fighting\, including footwork\, blade work\, rules\, etiquette and basic tactics. Students will develop coordination\, confidence\, speed\, and agility while discovering the intricacies of this fascinating sport under the guidance of expert instructors. \nWhat to Bring: Water bottle\, athletic clothing and footwear \nProgram Chaperone:  Our programs cannot run without parent volunteers. Impact Martial Arts is where children learn effective mixed martial arts technique\, with all of the safety\, respect\, character development\, and fun of traditional martial arts! In this program\, we will be taking the best foundational basics from different disciplines (like Karate\, American and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu\, Taekwondo\, Wrestling\, Boxing and Muay Thai) and blending them together for the ULTIMATE bully-proof confidence\, time tested self-defense\, and safe sport. At Impact Martial Arts\, we strive to make a forever impact in the lives of your children and the communities they will go on to shape! \nChaperone: We are looking for one adult volunteer to chaperone for all 3 weeks of the program. Our Jump Rope class helps kids improve coordination\, agility\, balance\, and cardiovascular fitness through games\, challenges\, and jump rope skills. Whether they’re picking up a rope for the first time or learning new tricks\, each class is designed to keep them active\, engaged\, and smiling. \nParticipants will develop: \n\nCoordination and rhythm\nSpeed and agility\nBalance and endurance\nConfidence through skill progression\nTeamwork and encouragement in a positive environment\n\nNo experience is necessary-just bring comfortable athletic shoes\, water\, and a willingness to have fun! DESCRIPTION:Registration Closes: Sunday\, November 22nd \nThe Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a three-week art class taught by artist Morgan McCue at Rocky Mountain Middle School for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Mondays\, November 30\, December 7\, 14 \nTime: 1:30-3pm \nLocation: Rocky Mountain Middle School \nPushing Boundaries: Creative Expression Through Art \nCreative expression is infinite and there are no boundaries. There is no better way to illustrate that\, than by trying different forms of art from around the world and across history. From Gyotaku (traditional Japanese fish printing)\, to Pop Art\, students will explore their own creative expressions through the lens of 3\, very different art styles. The class will allow students to try different techniques\, while learning about their historical context. At the end of the third and final class\, we will host a gallery show for friends and family. Students will be encouraged to give a brief presentation on one of their favorite pieces/processes. DESCRIPTION:We’re thrilled to partner again with Ski Utah and Brighton Resort to give Wallace Stegner students the chance to hit the slopes\, build their skills\, and have a whole lot of fun! Whether your student is brand new to skiing or snowboarding or ready to take their skills to the next level\, this program is a great opportunity to ski alongside their classmates. Space is limited\, so register today and get ready for an unforgettable season on the mountain! Students must be at least 7 years old to participate. \nPlease make note that this program takes place during the school day as set by the resort. Students will be responsible for any missed work. In addition\, schools will have the final say about student participation dependent upon attendance\, grades\, and behavior. \nGrades: 3rd-6th Wallace Stegner SLC Campus \nDates: Nov 30\, Dec 7\, 14\, 21 \nTime: 1-3 PM (on snow) \nCost: $185/ $5o scholarship price \nEquipment: Students will need warm clothing\, coat\, gloves\, ski goggles\, ski pants\, etc… All other ski equipment will be provided. \nTransportation is provided for this program. Pick up and drop off at Wallace Stegner-SLC.  \nScholarships: Deadline is November 18th! \n\nRegular scholarship priced tickets are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually and on free/reduced lunch. Participate in the Junior Instructor Program\, sponsored by YSA and the Professional Ski Instructors of America – American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI).  \nLearn what it’s like to work as an instructor and earn a nationally-recognized certificate that can open the door to teaching at a local resort.  \nTo participate in this course you MUST complete all sessions.\nDates: \nClassroom at Park City Library – 2 Mondays\, November 23 & December 7th from 3:15-5:15pm \nOn Snow at Park City Mountain Village – Saturday\, December 19th (9:00-4:00pm)\, Saturday\, January  9th (9:00am-4:00pm) \nShadow at least 5 hours of lessons at the resort’s Ski and Snowboard School \n\nAvailable Shadow Dates\n\nTaking Part In This Program:  \n\nMakes you a better skier or snowboarder \nConnects you with others who share your snowsports passion \nHelps you develop important career and life skills\, such as: Communication\, Dedication\, Discipline\, Independence\, Instruction\, Leadership\, Group management\, Professionalism\, Public speaking\nGives you a solid foundation of skills to help you work in the snowsports industry during and after high school. \n\nProgram Requirements \n\nParticipate in 4 hours of classroom learning including three online learning units. \nComplete a 12-hour training course on snow at a local resort. Lift tickets will be provided for on snow sessions.\nShadow at least 5 hours of lessons at the resort’s ski and ride school.\nDemonstrate a minimum sliding ability in 2 areas:\n\n1) Must show the ability to safely ski or ride in a group on blue terrain.\n2) Must have the ability to maneuver safely in a learning area and around all surface lifts or up/down hills and trails.\n\n\nComplete the course portfolio and have it signed by a snowsports supervisor.\nWrite and submit a letter of intent that describes why you want to become a snowsports instructor. Students will have the option to apply for a seasonal position as a Junior Instructor at the host resort after completing this course.\n\nOption for employment with Park City Mountain (subject to interview).
