DESCRIPTION:Discover Skeleton  \nUOP Skeleton/Activ8 \nPROGRAM – Skeleton (grades 6-7) $100 \nCAPACITY – 12 participants \nDATES – JAN 27\, FEB 3\, 10 \nLOCATION – Utah Olympic Park  No Transportation provided \nTIMES –  2:00-3:30pm \nProgram description: UOP Skeleton and Bobsled is the club development program for bobsled and skeleton. We’re a feeder program for the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation. As part of the tryout\, participants will first do a track walk with their coach to get an idea of how to steer a sled on ice. Next\, they will take two runs on a skeleton sled from the Tourist start (entrance of curve 11). \nThe program runs for 3 consecutive Fridays with registered participants sliding on all three of the dates. After the program concludes athletes are then welcome to continue training with the UOP Youth Sliding Program (meets on Wednesdays and Saturdays). \nUOP Waiver MANDATORY- UOP Sliding- https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/e/MsWviN6XaKjbR9cwy3nWRM/ \nEquipment: The Utah Olympic Park will provide skeleton sleds\, helmets and elbow pads. YOU will need to bring clothes to slide in: Lower body- spandex tights\, sweats or track pants preferably with tapered legs. Upper body-outer layer sweatshirt that is somewhat abrasion resistant\, without hood and not too baggy-basically clothes that can get damaged. NO EXPOSED SKIN. Also\, please bring a beanie\, gloves\, and warm jacket and snow pants for track walk. \nTransportation: Transportation to the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) and athlete pick up from the UOP after sliding will need to be done by parents.  All athletes (students) need to be at the UOP by 2:00pm. They will slide from 2:30-3:30pm and be available for pick up at 3:30pm. Parents are gladly invited to stay and watch. \nDirections: All participants will meet at the Bobsled/Skeleton finish dock. Once you drive to the UOP\, pass the Museum on your left and follow the road towards the bobsled track.  When you come to a gate (5843*) proceed around the road and the bobsled track will be on your left side. Keep following the road until you come to a parking lot on your left. Please do not park in the parking lot but on the downhill side of the road. DESCRIPTION:Dates: Mondays from 2:30 to 3:30pm on October 24\, 31\, November 7\, and 14 \nThe Soldier Hollow biathlon experience provides a taste of biathlon competition on the 2002 Olympic Biathlon Range in Midway\, Utah. During the 4-week session\, participants will learn firearm safety and the fundamentals of marksmanship using German air-rifles. The second half of the course will introduce shooting with a heart rate and will culminate with a fun mini competition. You must fill out this Soldier Hollow waiver BEFORE the first day of the program. Your child will not be able to participate until it is completed. Transportation is not provided. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center. This program will happen rain or shine\, and there will be no refunds for bad weather. DESCRIPTION:The class is designed for kids 8 and up (grades 2nd – 5th) \nDates: Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30pm on October 24\, 31\, November 7\, and 14 \nLearning the fundamentals of Cross Country Skiing is a great way to build fitness and enjoy being outdoors with friends. The Get Out & Play Cross Country Skiing program is specifically designed to build ski skills and confidence in a fun and warm(er) environment! The sessions are intended for students who want to get a jump on winter by experiencing the fundamentals of cross country skiing through games\, drills\, and other fun group activities\, including skiing on grass! \nPlease fill out this waiver. Your child will not be able to participate until it is completed. \nGear: Skis and boots will be provided for the lessons at Soldier Hollow. \nTransportation is not provided. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center. This program will happen rain or shine\, and there will be no refunds for bad weather. \nNEW! Partial Scholarship Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. If you earn less than $50\,000 annually\, please select a Scholarship ticket to complete your registration. If you earn more than $50\,000 annually but less than $100\,000 annually and the registration fee is a burden for your family\, you may qualify for a partial scholarship. SUMMARY:SOLD OUT!!!  Luge - Three Week Program
DESCRIPTION:Dates October 28\, Nov 4\, Nov 11 \nThe US Luge Association/Youth Winter Sports Alliance After School Luge Program is designed specifically for youth ages 8-13 (minimum height 52 inches)\, who have never been on a sled before. This program can lead directly to on-going training opportunities with the Wasatch Luge Club’s Youth Training Program and national level competitions. \nAll athletes start at curve 12\, the lowest point available on the track to run sleds. Here we take the first few runs on the last 4 curves (bottom ¼) of the track. Once everyone is comfortable we move up the track to the Tourist Start (one curve and straightaway higher). \nThe program runs for 3 consecutive Fridays with registered participants sliding on all three of the dates. After the program concludes athletes are then welcome to continue training with the Wasatch Luge Club’s Youth Training Program (meets Saturday nights). \nTransportation to the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) and athlete pick up from the UOP after sliding will need to be done by parents.  All athletes (students) need to be at the UOP by 2:00 PM. They will slide from 2:30-4:00 and be available for pick up at 4:00 PM.
