We’re a feeder program for the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation. As part of the tryout\, participants will first do a track walk with their coach to get an idea of how to steer a sled on ice. Next\, they will take two runs on a skeleton sled from the Tourist start (entrance of curve 11). \nThe program runs for 3 consecutive Fridays with registered participants sliding on all three of the dates. After the program concludes athletes are then welcome to continue training with the UOP Youth Sliding Program (meets on Wednesdays and Saturdays). \nUOP Waiver MANDATORY- UOP Sliding- https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/e/MsWviN6XaKjbR9cwy3nWRM/ \nEquipment: The Utah Olympic Park will provide skeleton sleds\, helmets and elbow pads. YOU will need to bring clothes to slide in: Lower body- spandex tights\, sweats or track pants preferably with tapered legs. Upper body-outer layer sweatshirt that is somewhat abrasion resistant\, without hood and not too baggy-basically clothes that can get damaged. NO EXPOSED SKIN. Also\, please bring a beanie\, gloves\, and warm jacket and snow pants for track walk. \nTransportation: Transportation to the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) and athlete pick up from the UOP after sliding will need to be done by parents.  All athletes (students) need to be at the UOP by 2:00pm. They will slide from 2:30-3:30pm and be available for pick up at 3:30pm. Parents are gladly invited to stay and watch. \nDirections: All participants will meet at the Bobsled/Skeleton finish dock. Once you drive to the UOP\, pass the Museum on your left and follow the road towards the bobsled track.  When you come to a gate (5843*) proceed around the road and the bobsled track will be on your left side. Keep following the road until you come to a parking lot on your left. Please do not park in the parking lot but on the downhill side of the road. These activities will include mixed martial arts\, indoor climbing\, and indoor cycling. Children will rotate weekly between activities. \nMMA (Martial Arts Self Defense) – The Progressive Defense Tactics instructional system is more than just physical self defense. It integrates the mind-body-spirit approach to personal protection. This approach to Personal protection gives participants an edge over others. Empowering youth and teenagers through defense classes will help them develop effective defensive strategies and gain confidence. \nThe Crag Climbing Wall – Kids will learn the basis of climbing techniques as well as learning how to safely climb in an indoor environment. Along with climbing\, they will learn how to tie into harnesses and climb on rope\, climbing technique\, equipment\, safety\, problem solving\, trust\, teamwork\, strength and endurance\, along with so much more. \nCycling- These Indoor cycling classes consist of timed drills and profiles. You will work on developing saddle endurance and a strong cadence. Great for outdoor riders off season to work on climbing skills\, with sprint and recovery training. These lessons are designed for skiers/snowboarders who can already turn and stop on their own and are eager to continue to get more controlled\, consistent\, and confident on the mountain. This is not a program for complete beginners. The program is based on our unique partnership with Woodward. \nDates: Monday\, January 23\, 30\, February 6\, and 13 \nTime:  Buses will arrive 3:00pm with an aim to be at the mountain for 3:45pm and return around 6:30pm. \nProgram Fee:  $180 \nThe Program Fee includes transportation\, lift ticket\, and instruction. \nParents/guardians will drop off their children at 3:00pm at the upper Wasatch UVU parking lot with their gear and in their snow clothes. Students then board a bus for transport to the ski hill where they will have a 2½ hour ski or snowboard lesson with their instructor. Once the lesson is completed\, students are transported back to Wasatch where parents can pick them up. \nThe entire program is parent supported and chaperoned\, so please do your best to assist! To make this program happen affordably we need parent volunteers. The staff at The Golf Lodge is ready to bring your Junior golfer to the next level. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn from the best! These clinics are perfect for beginner or advanced golfers. New skills will be taught\, and current skills will be built upon. Don’t miss your chance to learn and grow as a golfer! \nClubs are not required. A bottle of water is recommended. \nNEW! Partial Scholarship Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. If you earn less than $50\,000 annually\, please select a Scholarship ticket to complete your registration. If you earn more than $50\,000 annually but less than $100\,000 annually and the registration fee is a burden for your family\, you may qualify for a partial scholarship. Please complete the Partial Scholarship Application linked here to help us understand your financial challenges. The information you choose to share with us is confidential and will be used only for purposes of determining your eligibility for a partial scholarship. SUMMARY:Get Out & Play\, Cross Country Skiing Session 2 (Winter 2023)
DESCRIPTION:Cross country skiing is a great way to build fitness and enjoy being outdoors with friends\, and the Get Out & Play – Cross Country Skiing program is specifically designed to build ski skills and confidence in a fun environment! The sessions are intended for students who want to learn the fundamentals of cross country skiing through games\, drills\, and skiing with peers. \nGrades: 1st – 5th \nDates: January 27th\, February 3rd & 10th \nTime: 1:15pm – 3:00pm \nVenue: White Pine Nordic Center. \nTransportation is provided for this program. \nProgram Fee: \n\nStandard fee\, $110\nScholarship Fee\, $50\n\nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. Just select a Scholarship ticket below to complete the registration process for your child.\nPartial Scholarships are now also available for families earning between $50\,000 and $100\,000 annually. To apply for a Partial Scholarship\, please complete the application linked here to help us understand your financial challenges.\n\nEquipment is provided for students at no cost through the White Pine Nordic Center\, and instructors are from the Park City Ski and Snowboard Nordic Team. We do need a parent chaperone each week to help out on the trails with the classes. If you would like to volunteer\, but don’t own your own equipment\, you may borrow some from White Pine free of charge. Please CLICK HERE to volunteer! \nIMPORTANT NOTES \n\nWe will ski regardless of the weather\, so no refunds will be given for bad weather\, or once the program begins.\nNational Ability Center (NAC) Assistance: If your child will need assistance from the NAC\, please contact Andrew Ball at andrewb@discovernac.org once you’ve completed registration.\n\n  \nIllness: Do not send your child  if they are home due to illness\, or picked up early from school due to illness\, or are exhibiting symptoms of illness the days of the program.
