Come experience the lift served Deer Valley trails with coaching provided by the Deer Valley staff. This program will only be for intermediate to advanced riders (familiar with riding lift-served flow trails) between the ages of 10-14yrs old\, must be comfortable with trails like Pulp Friction\, Rusty Shovel in Round Valley. Work on skills like cornering\, braking and jumps in a safe fun environment. Limited spots available. \nAll registrants must complete the online waiver\, click here to complete and choose Summer Activities. \n\n\n\n\nIntermediate\nComfortable at slower speeds on blue technical and flow trails with roots\, loose rocks and single tracks\, while retaining balance\, changing gears and braking instinctively. Looking to learn how to drop and jump safely and continuing to explore more advanced terrain.\n\n\n\nAdvanced\nComfortable on all blue technical and flow trails\, while retaining balance\, changing gears and braking instinctively at higher speeds on steeper\, more challenging terrain. Has significant mileage on black technical and flow trails with jumps and drops. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a three-week keelboat sailing program for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Fridays\, September 11\, 18 and 25th\, pickup 1:35\, return at 4:15  \nCome sail this spring with Park City Sailing for 2 keelboat sailing lessons at the Jordanelle Reservoir! Open to new and returning students. Instructors will review sailing basics and expand sailing skills for returning students. DESCRIPTION:The YSA has teamed up with Young Riders to offer mountain biking for 3rd-5th graders as part of the Get Out and Play Program. \nDates: Sept 11\, 18\, 26\, and Oct 2 \nTimes: 1:15 – 3:15pm \nLocation: Quinn’s Junction\, Park City \nThis program is for participants who are beginners on trails\, and not for beginners on bikes\, as students should already know how to ride a bike and may have ridden some trails. \nThis 4-week program covers beginner single track trails\, climbing\, descending\, obstacles and safety on the trails of Round Valley. \nTransportation is not provided. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at Quinn’s Junction – park in the lot on Gillmor Way at Quinn’s Junction\, Park City. Participate in the Junior Instructor Program\, sponsored by YSA and the Professional Ski Instructors of America – American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI). \nLearn what it’s like to work as an instructor and earn a nationally-recognized certificate that can open the door to teaching at a local resort. \nTo participate in this course you MUST complete all sessions.\nDates: \nApril 6th-8th from 9:00AM-4:00PM   Arrival Time: 8:45AM Instruction Time: 9:00-12:00 & 1:00-4:00 Each day  Lunch: Lunch  is free time from 12:00-1:00. Please bring a home lunch\, or money to purchase a lunch in our lodge. Students will be able to eat lunch in our ski school lunchroom if they would like. This 90-minute program will introduce you to the basics of avalanches and risk mitigation. The curriculum is presented by certified avalanche instructors\, Sam Macomber and Anna Marno and includes: \n\nBasic snow science showing how the conditions for an avalanche can take shape\nRed flags that could indicate elevated avalanche danger\nMitigating risk: accessing and interpreting avalanche forecasts\, selecting good terrain\nMaking good decisions\nSafe travel rituals when moving through avalanche terrain\nOpportunities for further education\n\nOur goal is to provide you with a basic understanding of the risks you can encounter\, and how to mitigate that risk. DESCRIPTION:Whether your child is skating for the first time\, or has skated multiple times\, this is a great introductory program to many different aspects of skating. The first week will focus on the basic concepts of skating\, falling and how to get up. Kids will be divided up into groups and rotate through different stations that will teach specific skill sets\, play games and allow for “free skate” time.  Each of the following weeks will  focus on a specific type of skating\, including figure skating\, hockey and speed skating (or other fun activities). \nThere will always be something different to challenge the kids\, regardless of ability (with the exception of the highly skilled skater.) Keep in mind that that this program also focuses on “Fun On Ice” to get the kids out on the ice skating and having a good time with their friends. SUMMARY:Ski and Snowboard & Golf Simulator with Sim Sports-Parleys Park
DESCRIPTION:Sim.Sports Ski Simulator training Over 4 weeks\, work on stretching\, agility\, flexibility and of course get ready for ski season by shredding on our ski simulators. Class time includes training\, games\, races and individual time on the ski simulator.  Bring your own ski boots or use our loaner boots. \n  Sim.Sports Golf Simulator training  Golf\, football\, soccer\, arcade games and more!! Over 4 weeks\, join the game and enjoy a full hour of fun as we work through the different sports offered on the Multi-sport simulator.  No equipment necessary. Sneakers recommended for ball sports. This class does not include training on the ski simulators.   \n Transportation is provided for this program. Busses will leave the school at 12:45. \nDates: Fridays\, March 6\, 13 27\, April 3 \nTime: 1-2:30pm \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. Just select a Scholarship ticket below to complete the registration process for your child.\nPartial Scholarships are now also available for families earning between $50\,000 and $120\,000 annually. To apply for a Partial Scholarship\, please complete the application linked here to help us understand your financial challenges.\n\nVolunteers: \nOur programs rely on parent volunteers to help chaperone each program. Chaperone tickets are available at a reduced cost. Chaperones will receive a sizable discount on one (1) child’s registration. Please purchase a chaperone ticket for your child at registration. DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers must be at a minimum of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on Blue runs or above). Snowboarders must be able to link turns on intermediate runs. \nIntroduction to terrain parks including park etiquette\, transitions and small features; more advanced students learn tricks on rails\, jumps and in the halfpipe following safe progressions.  All students learn from our professional Woodward coaches and use our innovative terrain parks. \nDates: Fridays Feb. 13\, 27\, March 6\, 13 \nIMPORTANT NOTES – We will ski regardless of the weather\, and no refunds will be available for bad weather. \n\nScholarships: \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually.
