DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to team up again with Spock’s Skate Park for an end of year Skateboard program. \nSpock’s Skate Camp has been inspiring young skaters since 2003\, when founder Spock—an experienced skateboarder and snowboard instructor—started teaching kids the basics of skateboarding in Salt Lake City. With a lifelong passion for skating that began back in 1977\, Spock built the camp around three core values: Safety\, Fun\, and Learning. Today\, the camp features handpicked\, highly trained instructors who know how to work with kids of all skill levels\, helping them build confidence and improve their skating in a supportive and exciting environment. This four week course will cover the basics of modern-day sword fighting\, including footwork\, blade work\, rules\, etiquette and basic tactics. Must be 7 years old to participate. \nGrades: 3-6  \nDates:  February 4\, 11\, 18\, 25 \nTime: 2:00-4:00 (on snow) \nCost: $180/$50 scholarship \nRequired Equipment/Gear: skis/snowboard and boots\, helmet\, googles\, water-proof gloves/mittens and proper snow clothing. *Students on scholarship will be notified about their equipment pickup. \nWaiver: You must fill out the online waiver HERE otherwise your student can not participate. \nVenue: Powder Mountain \nTransportation is provided for this program to and from the resort\, with pick up location TBD  \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. DESCRIPTION:The Get Out & Play Alpine Skiing/Snowboarding program gives students in the 3-6th grade (must be 7 to participate) the chance to advance their skiing or snowboarding skills with peers through our partnership with Snowbasin. These lessons build on existing skills and introduce new techniques. Participants should already be able to turn and stop independently and are ready to gain more control\, consistency\, and confidence on the mountain. This program is for students in the Ogden & Weber area schools only. \nProgram Details \n\nDates: February 4\, 11\, 8\, 25\nTime: 2-4 PM on snow\nAge: 3rd-6th graders\nVenue: Snowbasin\nSkill Level: Lessons are designed for skiers and snowboarders already able to turn and stop independently.\nTransportation: Shuttle bus transportation is provided to and from Snowbasin from a central meeting place (Location TBD).\nRequired Equipment/Gear: skis/snowboard and boots\, helmet\, googles\, water-proof gloves/mittens and proper snow clothing.\nProgram Cost:\n\n$185 standard ticket\n$50 scholarship ticket (for students on free and reduced lunch)\n$150 sibling (the sibling discount is available only with the purchase of a standard ticket\, sponsored by Kodiak)\nThe fee includes lift tickets\, instruction\, and transportation. Equipment is not provided or covered for this program.\n\n\n\nParent Support and Volunteer Opportunities: This program relies on parent volunteers! We need help to keep the program affordable\, and volunteering is a great way to participate. All volunteers will need to complete a volunteer form and background check. Bus transportation is provided to and from Snowbasin.\nRequired Equipment/Gear: skis/snowboard and boots\, helmet\, googles\, water-proof gloves/mittens and proper snow clothing.\nProgram Cost:\n\n$185 standard\n$50 scholarship (for students on free and reduced lunch\, includes ski/snowboard rentals)\n$150 sibling (the sibling discount is available only with the purchase of a standard ticket\, sponsored by Kodiak)\nThe fee includes lift tickets\, instruction\, and transportation.
