SUMMARY:Wasatch and North/South Summit - ACTIV8 and Get Out & Play UOP Nordic Jumping Sponsored by Kodiak
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT! Skiers must be at a MINIMUM of an intermediate level to participate in this program (i.e.\, must be able to parallel ski on blue runs or above). \nThis is an introductory course that takes place at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for students in grades 3rd-7th who are intermediate skiers and looking to learn how to nordic jump. Students will be introduced to nordic jumping through instruction provided by Park City Ski and Snowboard (PCSS). Skiers will spend their time on our small nordic jumps and progress from the landing hill of the smallest jump (10M) and have opportunities to progress to the 10M\, 20M and even 40M ski jump. This program can be done on any alpine skis (poles are not used).  \nProgram fee: $180; $140 without transportation \nThe program fee includes UOP pass\, instruction and transportation \nDates: Mondays\, Feb. 24\, Mar. 3\, 10\, 17 \nTime: 3:30 – 5pm  \nGrades: 3rd-7th \nTransportation:  \nWasatch – Parents/Guardians will drop off students at the Southfield parking lot (by the skatepark) to meet the chaperones to go up to the UOP by bus at 2:45pm and pick up in the Southfield parking lot at 5:30pm. \nNorth Summit/ South Summit- transportation will not be provided. Please select the ticket without transportation.  \nScholarships:  \n\nRegular scholarships are available for students with families earning less than $50\,000 annually. DESCRIPTION:Experience the sports offered inside Woodward’s world-class indoor facility including trampolines\, parkour\, skateboarding\, scooter and BMX riding. All abilities welcome. Students will choose wheeled sports (skateboarding and scooters) or parkour/acrobatics as their focus. \nTransportation is provided from Daniels Canyon\, Old Mill and JR Smith elementary schools. \nDates: Monday\, Feb. 24\, Mar. 3\, 10\, 17 \nTime: 2:30- 5:30pm \nAges: 1st-5th grade (we cannot accommodate kindergarteners) \nProgram Fee:  $180 (standard)\, $50 (scholarship)\, $50 (bus coordinators) \nThe Program Fee includes transportation and instruction. \nStudents will meet the volunteers after school in a specified area. Students then board a bus for transport to Woodward Park City where they will have a lesson with their instructor. Once the lesson is completed\, students are transported back to JR Smith\, Old Mill and Daniels Canyon elementary schools where parents/guardians will pick them up. \nVolunteers: The entire program is parent supported and chaperoned\, so please do your best to assist! To make this program happen affordably we need parent volunteers. Students will develop skills in a non-contact environment that will give them an understanding of the sweet science. DESCRIPTION:This special one-day session is designed to give students the opportunity to go tubing at Soldier Hollow with friends from their own school. \nDate: Tuesday\, February 18th \nTime: 3:30-6:00pm (tubing from 4:00-5:30pm) \nTransportation: Thanks to a special grant we are able to provide transportation to and from Soldier Hollow tubing hill from JR Smith and Old Mill Elementary Schools. If your child goes to Daniels Canyon\, Heber Valley or Midway Elementary Schools please register for the tubing session on February 18th. \nVolunteers Needed! Two chaperones\, one from each school\, will be needed in order to run this program. Please select the bus chaperone ticket for your child if you are able to volunteer. DESCRIPTION:The standard tickets for Wasatch students are sold out. Please contact Amanda (801-400-5044\, amanda@ysausa.org) to be added to the waitlist. \nLearn to ski or snowboard or progress skills on the slopes of Woodward. The ACTiV8 Alpine Skiing/Snowboarding program gives kids the opportunity to learn and progress alongside their peers and will help refine current skills and introduce students to new skills. This is a program for North Summit and Wasatch middle schoolers. Students will meet parent volunteers after school in a specified area where the students will get ready for the session (get snow clothes and gear on). Students will then board a bus to Woodward where they will have a 2 hour ski or snowboard lesson with an instructor.  \nThis program is based on our unique partnership with Woodward. \nDates: Thursdays\, Feb. 13\, 20\, 27 Mar. 6 \nProgram Time: 3:30-5:30 pm (at Woodward)\, 2:30-6:00 pm (with using transportation to and from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain middle schools) \nTransportation: \nWasatch– The bus will pick up students from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle Schools. We may pickup from Wasatch High if there’s enough demand. \nNorth Summit– Transportation will be provided if we get enough participants and a chaperone. Join us for a special 1-day Get Out & Play (GO&P) Cross-Country Skiing program with Team SoHo\, designed to introduce kids to skiing skills and build their confidence through fun games and engaging drills in a supportive environment. \nThis class is for students in 1st to 5th grades. We’ll pick up participants from JR Smith\, Heber Valley\, and Soldier Hollow Charter schools\, transporting them to Soldier Hollow and returning them to their schools afterward. Homeschool students are also welcome to join! \nPlease fill out this waiver. Your child will not be able to participate until it is completed. \nDate: Monday\, December 9th from 2:30 to 4:30pm \nLocation: Soldier Hollow Nordic Center (with transportation from JR Smith Elementary\, Heber Valley Elementary and Soldier Hollow Charter School) \nThis program will happen rain or shine\, and there will be no refunds for bad weather. \nNEW! Partial Scholarship Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. DESCRIPTION:The YSA is excited to offer a three-week basketball program with the Jump Stop Academy for 1st-5th graders as part of the Get Out & Play Program. \nDates: Mondays from 2:30 to 3:30pm on Dec. 2\, 9\, 16 \nLocation: JR Smith Elementary School \nAll-Star Madness is for players who want to work on their skills but play a lot of fun games as well. Each class is one hour long. Players will work on different skills each week and then have an All-Star competition or game that works on those specific skills.Ideal Baller: Players looking for a mix of drills and fun games as opposed to all drills. \nTransportation: A bus will be available to take students living in the Todd Hollow/Deer Mountain area home afterwards\, with a stop at the Todd Hollow Apartments. \nRegistration closes on Monday\, November 25 at 9am. \nScholarship Availability:  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs.
