DESCRIPTION:The YSA is excited to offer a four-week cross training (weight lifting) program at the Fit Stop for 6th-8th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Mondays from 2:30 to 3:30pm on October 30\, November 6\, 13 and 20 \nOur goal is to create a safe and positive community to cross train\, for all abilities. We focus on building a good foundation in weight training with an emphasis on form. Not only do we have fun while building self esteem but also stamina. \nTransportation is not provided. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at the Fit Stop \nRequired Equipment \n\nWaiver\nWater Bottle\nShoes and socks (no open-toe sandals)\nAthletic clothing\n\nNEW! Partial Scholarship Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. SUMMARY:ACTIV8 Wasatch Introduction to Biathlon Fall 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a four-week introduction to biathlon program for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Monday\, October 2\, 9\, 30\, and November 6 from 1:30-3:30pm \nThe Soldier Hollow biathlon experience provides a taste of biathlon competition on the 2002 Olympic Biathlon Range in Midway\, Utah. During the 4-week session\, participants will learn firearm safety and the fundamentals of marksmanship using German air-rifles. The second half of the course will introduce shooting with a heart rate and will culminate with a fun mini competition. \nYou must fill out this Soldier Hollow waiver BEFORE the first day of the program. Your child will not be able to participate until it is completed. This program will happen rain or shine\, and there will be no refunds for bad weather. \nTransportation is provided from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle School. Bus will pick up students immediately after school at Timpanogos and then pick up at Rocky Mountain before heading to Jordanelle. \nBus Chaperone: To run this program with transportation we need a parent bus chaperone to meet the students at the school and ride the bus to and from Soldier Hollow. To volunteer\, purchase your child the chaperone student ticket. DESCRIPTION:The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) is excited to offer a two-week keelboat sailing program for 6th-12th graders as part of the ACTIV8 Program. \nDates: Monday\, September 18th and 25th\, 1:30-4:30pm \nCome sail this fall with Park City Sailing for 2 keelboat sailing lessons at the Jordanelle Reservoir! Open to new and returning students. Instructors will review sailing basics and expand sailing skills for returning students. This is also a great opportunity for any new or experienced sailors interested in regional sailing team opportunities. \nTransportation is provided from Timpanogos and Rocky Mountain Middle School. Bus will pick up students immediately after school at Timpanogos and then pick up at Rocky Mountain before heading to Jordanelle. \nBus Chaperone: To run this program with transportation we need a parent bus chaperone to meet the students at the school and ride the bus to and from Jordanelle. Parents will need to drop off and pick up at Dutch Hollow Trailhead. Dutch Hollow is a fee area. If you stay after dropping off your child you will need to pay the parking fee. DESCRIPTION:Experience the sports offered inside Woodward’s world-class indoor facility including trampolines\, parkour\, skateboarding\, scooter and BMX riding. All abilities welcome. Students will choose wheeled sports (skateboarding\, scooter and BMX riding) or parkour/acrobatics as their focus. \nTransportation is provided from Midway\, Heber Valley and JR Smith elementary schools. \nDates: Monday\, May 1\, 8\, 15\, and 22 \nTime: 2:30- 5:30pm \nAges: 1st-5th grade (we cannot accomodate kindergarteners) \nProgram Fee:  $180 (standard)\, $50 (scholarship)\, $50 (bus coordinators) \nThe Program Fee includes transportation and instruction. \nStudents will meet parent/gaurdian volunteers after school in a specified area. Students then board a bus for transport to Woodward where they will have a lesson with their instructor. Once the lesson is completed\, students are transported back to JR Smith\, Heber Valley and Midway elementary schools where parents/gaurdians will pick them up. \nThe entire program is parent supported and chaperoned\, so please do your best to assist! To make this program happen affordably we need parent volunteers. We need one volunteer from each school to be the Lead School Bus Coordinator.  If you can commit to all 4 weeks you can select the discounted Bus Coordinator ticket. Other volunteer positions include bus chaperones.
