SUMMARY:Art Class - No Rules 2.0: Reinventing Reality Through Interactive Art with Morgan McCue
DESCRIPTION:When I asked my last class to define Street Art\, words like “vandalism”\, “illegal” and\, graffiti” were thrown around.  This is interesting because Street Art in its contemporary form has largely separated itself from these stereotypes.  Cities have embraced urban expression by commissioning huge murals and celebrating flash art and unsanctioned installations. This class will focus on present-day influencers like CJ Hendry and her Pink Chair project\, Kobra and his iconic murals\, and Park City’s own vibrant street art scene. I will challenge students to see the physical world as a creative playground by bringing in odd materials each week to work with.  The end goal is to transform the classroom into a group installation inspired entirely by their own unique ideas and impulses. On the last day\, friends and family will be invited to attend the opening (and closing) of the exhibition. The goal is to inspire and empower students to think outside the box and value their own unique expressions. \nThis 4 week class is provided by Morgan McCue\, to see more of Morgan’s work you can view her website at morganmccueartist.com \nDates: October 11\, 25\, nov 8\, 15 \nTimes: 1:45-3:15pm \nNEW! Partial Scholarship Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. If you earn less than $50\,000 annually\, please select a Scholarship ticket to complete your registration. If you earn more than $50\,000 annually but less than $120\,000 annually and the registration fee is a burden for your family\, you may qualify for a partial scholarship. SUMMARY:Art Class - NO RULES: Recognizing and Creating Art in Unexpected Places with Morgan McCue
DESCRIPTION:From the ancient art of graffiti to the painted rocks of the pandemic lockdown\, fairy gardens to flash mobs\, people have been recognizing opportunities for art anywhere and everywhere for thousands of years. \nWhile this class will not condone illegal defacing of property\, it will focus on seeing the world as malleable. We will create art that forces viewers to see something already in existence in a new way. And we will also learn to recognize the beauty of accidental art that forms organically – the shape of a melting icicle or the barbie doll hanging from a power line.  Seeing the world for its artistic potential encourages creative\, out-of-the-box thinking\, and problem solving in all aspects of life. \nThis 4 week class is provided by Morgan McCue\, to see more of Morgan’s work you can view her website at morganmccueartist.com \nDates: April 26\, May 3\, 10\, 17 \nTimes: 1:45-3:15pm \nNEW! Partial Scholarship Availability.  We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs.
