SUMMARY:Introduction to Wrestling
DESCRIPTION:Our Introduction to Wrestling program is for beginners who want to have fun while learning.  The program introduces girls and boys to the physical\, technical and mental aspects of wrestling in an inclusive and fun environment.  The focus will be on the fundamentals and principles of wrestling including basic positions and body movements. \nDates: April 21\, 28\, May 5\, 12\, 19 (optional tournament day)\nTimes: 12:00-1;15pm (please arrive at the PCHS  wrestling room at 11:45 for a 12:00 start) \nWhat to wear: \n\nWear athletic gear\n\nBoys – t-shirt and shorts/joggers\nGirls – t-shirts\, athletic bra\, compression shorts and shorts/joggers\n\n\nWrestling shoes – we will have pairs available to borrow so bring socks (otherwise you will practice barefooted)\n\nPlease download the wrestling waiver complete and either bring with you or take a photo and send to heather@ysausa.org \nTo download the waiver and medical form CLICK HERE

DESCRIPTION:Ever wonder what it would be like to teach skiing or snowboarding? Here’s a great way to find out! Participate in the Junior Instructor Program\, sponsored by YSA and the Professional Ski Instructors of America – American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI).  \nLearn what it’s like to work as an instructor and earn a nationally-recognized certificate that can open the door to teaching at a local resort.  \nDates: Fridays Classroom Nov 4\, 11\, (at school 11:30-1:30) On Snow at Park City Mountain Dec 2\, 9 & 16 (12:00-4:00pm) \nTaking Part In This Program:  \n\nMakes you a better skier or snowboarder \nConnects you with others who share your snowsports passion \nHelps you develop important career and life skills\, such as: Communication\, Dedication\, Discipline\, Independence\, Instruction\, Leadership\, Group management\, Professionalism\, Public speaking\nGives you a solid foundation of skills to help you work in the snowsports industry during and after high school. \n\nProgram Requirements \n\nParticipate in 4 hours of classroom learning including three online learning units. \nComplete a 12-hour training course on snow at a local resort.) Lift tickets will be provided for on snow sessions.\nShadow 6 hours of lessons at the resort’s ski and ride school.\nDemonstrate a minimum sliding ability in 2 areas:\n\nMust have the ability to maneuver safely in a learning area and around all surface lifts or up/down hills and trails.\nMust show the ability to safely ski or ride in a group on blue terrain.\n\n\nComplete the course portfolio and have it signed by a snowsports supervisor.\nWrite and submit a letter of intent that describes why you want to become a snowsports instructor. Students will have the option to apply for a seasonal position as a Junior Instructor at the host resort after completing this course.\n\nOption for employment with Park City Mountain (subject to interview). \nOn snow passes and instruction sponsored by Epic Promise and PSIA \n
