ACTiV8 South Summit Cooking- Creating Seasonal Meals

$19.00 – $51.00Join us as we explore seasonal eating and cooking with EATS and Summit Community Gardens. During this four week program, students will learn how to make meals based on what’s in season, what seasonal eating is, and why it’s good for us. Each lesson will also include information on different cooking skills like knife skills, sautéing, making a vinaigrette, and seasoning food, and tips on how to choose seasonal, healthy foods and how they benefit our bodies and minds. This program is for 5th grade and up.

Location: South Summit Middle School
Partial Scholarship Availability. We want to provide the opportunity for as many kids as possible to participate in our programs. If your child qualifies for the free and reduced lunch program and/or your family earns less than $50,000 annually, please select a Scholarship ticket to complete your registration. If you do not qualify for free and reduced lunch but earn less than $120,000 annually and the registration fee is a burden for your family, you may qualify for a partial scholarship. Please complete the Partial Scholarship Application linked here to help us understand your financial challenges. The information you choose to share with us is confidential and will be used only for purposes of determining your eligibility for a partial scholarship. You may be asked to provide documentation (i.e., paystubs, tax forms, or W-2s) to confirm your income and/or other financial information.
