Programs
YSA runs after-school programs that offer something valuable for just about every student in this community in 1st through 9th grades. Our programs keep students active after school while introducing them to sports and healthy lifestyle activities.
Our programs are open to all students. Scholarships are available for students needing financial assistance to participate.
ADVENTURE
Get Out & Play
YSA's Get Out & Play program provides after-school activities on early-release school days. YSA partners with parent volunteers, Basin Recreation, Deer Valley, Find Your Path Utah, Park City Mountain, Park City Ice Arena, Utah Olympic Park, White Pine Touring, Young Riders, and Woodward to offer affordable programs that give every child the opportunity to try new sports in a safe supervised environment.
Elementary-aged students can try downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, freestyle skiing, freeride snowboarding, ski jumping, mountain biking, figure skating, speed skating, ice hockey, triathlon, camping skills, and indoor action sports.
OPPORTUNITY
ACTiV8
Middle school and junior high students can try 30 different sports or healthy lifestyle activities to stay active and off their screens through our ACTiV8 program. These fun activities take place after school on early-release days. Built into the curriculum are later-entry sports such as rowing, biathlon and curling, and creative activities including photography, cooking and art.
ACTiV8 focuses on developing eight positive lifestyle qualities: Accountability, Confidence, Equality, Inspiration, Kindness, Leadership, Respect, and Versatility. Students receive a “community passport” after their first session and are responsible for obtaining signatures from instructors after finishing each activity. Upon completing eight activities (one of which must include CPR), students receive a Park City ACTiV8 Award.
TEAM WORK
Competitive Teams
Founded to foster the development of sports teams in Park City following the 2002 Olympic Games, the Youth Sports Alliance continues to pursue this goal by fundraising for seven winter sports teams and providing need-based scholarships to athletes training on these teams through the Stein Eriksen YSA Opportunity Endowment established in 2014.
YSA's after-school programs also serve as a pipeline to these clubs as well as other sports teams in the community.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available to athletes training with Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) winter sports programs and to students participating in YSA after-school programs.
