Anna Gready Selected for YSA Community Scholarship

For more than a decade, Anna Gready, stepped onto the ice at the Park City Ice Arena at 5:30 in the morning. She ran through three hours of jumps, spins, and footwork before unlacing her skates and heading to school. The tenacity she showed for figure skating will serve her well as she heads off to the University of Georgia this fall to pursue a business marketing degree.
In May, Anna was selected for the Youth Sports Alliance Park City High School Community Scholarship. The $3,000 award honors a graduating senior from PCHS for their commitment to sport, academics and community. While in high school, Anna passed US Figure Skating’s Senior Moves in the Field test, a level accomplished by only about three-percent of Figure Skaters. She also passed her Junior Freeskate test and Novice Ice Dance tests. In addition to her success on the ice, Anna excelled in the classroom. She always earned honor roll and high honor roll distinction, published articles in the school newspaper, and earned credit through her concurrent enrollment classes.
While in high school, Anna and a fellow skater launched the Figure Skating Club of Park City’s Junior Board. Through that effort Anna and her teammates organized an event that raised more than $5,000 for cancer research, as well as volunteer and fundraising opportunities to benefit Peace House and Sage Mountain Sanctuary. Anna was honored along with her teammate with the YSA Circle of Excellence Leadership Award for founding the Junior Board.
We are proud of you Anna and are excited to help you get started on your next journey.
