YSA Programs
The Youth Sports Alliance — initially known as the Youth Winter Sports Alliance (YWSA) — was established as a legacy to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games to spearhead a community wide effort to increase the number of children participating in winter sports from Summit and Wasatch Counties in Utah.
Today, YSA runs affordable afterschool programs including Get Out & Play (GO&P) for elementary school students and ACTiV8 for middle school, junior high and high school students, as well as provides fundraising support for seven competitive winter sport programs. Through these efforts, we engage more than 3,500 youth each year and provide tangible need-based financial support along all stages of their athletic journeys.

The Youth Sports Alliance runs afterschool programming which serves as a pathway to winter sports clubs and competition. We have established the Stein Eriksen YSA Opportunity Endowment, a $2 million need-based scholarship endowment. This fund provides more than $150,000 in need-based scholarships each year to athletes to defray coaching, travel and equipment costs. Teams and the YSA collaborate on media and additional funding opportunities.
