The Get Out & Play Alpine Skiing/Snowboarding Progression programs give kids the opportunity to progress their skiing and snowboarding skills alongside their peers. The program is based on our unique partnership with Woodward.
This is a program for South Summit and Wasatch students 1st-5th grade. This program is for those who have tried our Learn to ski/snowboard program and now want to progress those skills on the slopes at Woodward. This program will help to refine the skills your child has learned and introduce them to new skills. These lessons are designed for skiers/snowboarders who can already turn and stop on their own and are eager to be more controlled, consistent, and confident on the mountain. This is not a program for complete beginners. For a beginner program, please register for the South Summit & Wasatch -Learn to Ski/Snowboard program at Park City Mountain.
The program begins immediately after school with students gearing up with the help of parent volunteers. Students will take YSA provided transportation to Woodward where they will have a 2 hour ski or snowboard lesson with their instructor. Once the lesson is completed, students are taken back to the school where parents can pick them up.
Dates: Mondays Jan. 13, 27, Feb 3, 10; 4-6pm (no session on Jan. 20)
Program Fee: $180
The program fee includes transportation, lift ticket, and instruction. Equipment is not provided or covered under the program fee.
Transportation is provided:
South Summit- The bus will leave from South Summit Elementary School. Fifth graders will need to come to the elementary school to meet the bus. Once the lesson is completed, students are driven back to school where parents can pick them up. Buses/Vans will arrive at the school at 3:00pm with arrival at Woodward around 3:45 and return to school around 6:30pm.
Wasatch- Parents/guardians will drop off their children at 3:00pm at the South Field Park parking lot on 100 S in Heber with their gear and in their snow clothes. Once the lesson is completed, students are taken back to the South Field parking lot where parents can pick them up around 6:30 pm.
Volunteers Needed! To make this program happen affordably, we need parent volunteers for a School Coordinator position and as bus chaperones. Volunteers for School Coordinator will receive a sizable discount on one (1) child’s registration. Please select the School Coordinator ticket. All volunteers will need to complete a volunteer form and background check. The link for the background check will be sent after the form is filled out. South Summit bus chaperone positions will only be needed if the coordinator tickets are not sold. Wasatch bus chaperone positions can be viewed HERE. Your help is greatly appreciated!
